We got an X5 with a Fat Sack in the back. We also load it up with 17, 25 Litre barrels full of water. So were pretty loaded up.

Wheres best to put the barrels? We load it up pretty evenly but is it better having most wait at the back? Or am I right where I have it??

Cheers

Depends how you want your wake, I think it goes that if you have the weight toward the back you have a steep wake, so you get height but you won't go out the flats as much. And having it toward the front gives you the opposite effect.

yup, usually about 60% in the back and 40% in the front will give you a wake with a nice vert shape but not to steep. I weight my sport nautique 1700lbs in the back and then about 600 in the front and i love the wake. But it is all person preference.

vip20882000, is right about the weight placement and the effects on the wake. There was a good article on month in wakeboarding mag about this. The weight distribution for different length boats if you want to read more about it.

hey,

We also got an X5!. We load it up with 2 540lbs sacks on each side of the engine, 400lbs(no water) under the rear seat and about 300lbs of water in the bow(all auto ballast) The wake is real nice and you can sit on the rear seat! Which you can't with a fat sack or fat seat in the rear.

experiment. 60 40 is a good ratio. to much wait in the back will cause the wake to get real soft and curl over and too much in the front and it wont be steep enough.

every boat is different and every riders perspective of the perfect wake varies. Play around with the placement and you will find your G-spot.
