I need to know if I'm being too hard on the cruise control...
Whenever I am driving, I prefer to keep the cruise control on the whole time...so, when a rider falls, and I go back to pick him up, I leave the cruise control on the entire time. When the boat slows down enough, it will not engage back up to speed, so it seems to be a pretty safe thing to do. When I pull the rider back up, this allows me to get the boat up to speed so much faster than turning the control off and on. Has anyone had any safety issues with the boat suddenly trying to get back up to speed?? I have not, but am wondering...
Also,
Is this hard on the boat's control?
Thanks in advance for any input! _________________ Don't let go of the rope |

I leave mine on all the time. You're only running at idle when you go back for your rider anyway...right.
I could be wrong on this, but I believe the servo motor is always on when the engine is running even if the speed control is set to off. Otherwise when you throttle up then back down you'd create a bunch of slack in the PP servo cable.
So, you don't save any wear on the mechanical components. _________________ -Pumpkin Head |
