Bring your knees in to your chest. Basically you should be able to at least ollie as high as you can jump, most guys can ollie even a little more than that. |

make sure u have shoes w/ fairly new soles and maby replace your griptape if it's old. i got new shoes a while ago and that alone helped a ton. _________________

The harder you kickdown on the tail and the higher you jump the higher the board will go. _________________

WakeKid07, just try ollieng w/ old shoes then newer shoes. You should be able to feel the difference. If you don't have much grip then your front foot doesn't pull the board up as much if that makes any sense. IDN it works for me. _________________

uh...when you rip your front foot upwards on the deck it requires grip. its the friction of your shoe/grip tape bringing the board forward and leveling it out while your back foot pushes it up. WakeKid07, why do you even use griptape and shoes then? |

I know a friend of mine that has been skating for like 15 years says it's better to get used to skating and landing tricks with loose trucks even if it's harder... I can't remember why tough 0_o _________________ Now even tough I know there's NO one in here that lives anywhere near Montréal, if you ever feel like riding, just pm/e-mail/msn/whatever else me |

wakeudude, i know that is why, but its not like you cant ollie with worn out shoes/grip. ive skated a gripless deck before. it is weird, my ollies werent much different but it was hard to do flip tricks with nothing to catch my toe on. i dont notice much difference in shoes tho. _________________

i normally ride my trucks tight as can be. ive loosened them up a bit so i can at least turn some without kicking, they are perfect now. i hate it when im trying to do flip tricks and the whole board tilts and starts turning _________________

i guess its just preference. it depends on the board feel, and how you like it. also soft wear down faster so depending on how long you want your wheels to last. _________________
