So I have a pair of DU Nelsons that I can get on with little problem with the right lube, but taking them off is a whole other story. Is there a slick way to get out of the binding???<BR>These are definatly tougher to get out of than my hyperlite shifters Smile

I use Moose Juice to get into and out of my Blindside Stomp bindings. Spray your legs on the top of the bindings and splash some water into them. You will slide out easily. I also had Hyperlites and suffered heel lift, which has stoped with the Stomps. Of course, they are a tighter fit like your Nelsons.

Moose Juice is not a glycerin product, but a surfactant. It works differently and well on very tight bindings.

There's a couple things you can do. First try to get out of them with no lube or anything. Just stand up vertical in the water and bring your knees to your chest then do a powerful jumping motion to get off the bindings. It should only take 3-4 jumps. If that doesn't work you can put some lube on them like boarditup said. If the person who's using the bindings is new and you don't want them to waste all that lube and still not be able to get it off our fool-proof way of getting bindings off is have them stand on the ski deck and have 2 people stand on the nose/tail of the board and have them dive in. They come right out of the bindings with no lube or anything. Thats what we do for people who are just learning.

Do the dive trick, get someone to stand on the board then dive into the water thats how we help the fat kids at camp get out of bindings...

Yeah get the rider to sit in the water and un-tighten the bindings then get them to bring the board to their chest, grab on to the toe edge of the board and to pull it towards them.

Take a progressive edge and then dive into the water just before you get to the top of the wake, make sure catch your toe side edge and don't forget to extend your legs Laughing

Just kidding

The jumping in the water is a good trick. Also you might try just prying the toeside edge of your board towards you while trying to lift your heels out the boot. Or just catch an edge, that's the easiest way - plus it provides some entertainment for the people in the boat.

I do what hyperlite40 does and works for me too...

pull it out like a big boot or shoe.

You should end each riding session with your board already off your feet from a nasty faceplant. Otherwise your not going BIG enough. My strategy anyway....

To avoid the (not so fun) faceplant, just loosen them in the water after riding while waiting to be picked up and move your feet around. they should slide right off.

I stand on the board in the water and kick out of the bindings that way. At first it was more difficult but once you get used to it you will only need to kick about two times.
