Hello,

I want to start wakeboarding this summer. A friend of mine told me it's easy to start and a lot of fun. He will learn me to start and then I want to wakeboard behind my own boat. I have a 1977 Bayliner 1750 Mutiny I/O.
But what do you guys think of the wake of this boat?

I just don't have the money for an expensive Mastercraft or other wakeboard boat because I'm just a 20 year old student from Holland.

Thanks

Danny

looks fine for beginning on. it could be worth putting some extra weight in - this will make the wake a bit bigger.

have a go and see!

actually looks like it could have a similar hull to alot of dd boats, not sure though, try adding some sacs, or whatever you can (big coolers with lots of beer) and see how it is

as they said weight is key more weight in the front then back and also raise the trim as much as you can with out the boat porpoising to much, that can really help the wake

getting a bigger wake from an i/o is easy - well simple....only 2 things you can really do...

weight in the front and trim up as best you can...it will be big and fat. looks like you have a good boat to start from...

Hello,

As soon as I can stand on the board I will add some weight in the boat, friends, beer (and other drinks) and maybe some other weight to create a bigger wake. I'm just a beginner so I don't need a very big wake to start with but I think it's gonna be a lot of fun this summer!

Thank you guys!

Danny

the wake looks pretty clean. I'd suggest getting used to your board and practicing on getting some pop off the wake before you add ballast or anything. Welcome to the boards!

give it a shot and see what happens. you can ride behind anything and you can jump any wake. starting out small is not such a crazy idea anyway.
That's the nicest looking Bayliner I've seen in a long time.
