With prices at the pump going up and up... just wonder what those of you are having to pay.

Around these part (N. Texas), about $1.67 /gal on land - 2.25+ on the water...

Yeah, about $1.60 in Dallas for 87 octane at the cheapest. On the lake its gotta be at least $3. I refuse to pay that.

Gas on the Delta was $2.69 last weekend. IIRC that is the same price as last year...

Around town (if you go to the correct stations) it's $1.99

$2.29 for unleaded by my house. And the local lake doesn't have a marina so I don't have to worry about paying even higher prices than that.

Just filled up the wifes car in Orange County CA at $2.52 a gallon. Supreme....

I used to love having a diesel but now that price is up at $2.19. I didnt even think that was the same crude oil as regular gas? Anyhow, if they can charge more they will.

Central Florida (Orlando) $1.78.

Here's a suggestion I made recently to a couple friends on how we could address this ridiculous gas price hike by our 'friends' in the middle east. Why don't we take our military out of Iraq, and roll them across the border into Kuwait. The goal of that effort: make Kuwait the next US controlled province. Maybe then we could buy a gallon of gas for less than $2.00. Mad Oh yeh, the oil in Iraq is also ours. We've bought it with blood.

Because the oil is still controlled by OPEC. If we really wanted oil we would not leave our own hemisphere and invade Venezuela. Rolling Eyes

2.01 at my house.

well, OPEC does control the oil... BUT they're still subject to the laws of supply and demand. I can see the prices of petroleum based fuels dropping dramatically within the next 5 to 10 years, as american and japanese auto manufacturers are already producing hybrid vehicles (lexus "H" later this year and chevy silverado hybrid), and then hydrogen fuel cell-based powerplants, the demand for petroleum-based fuel is going to steadily decrease, thus driving price down. I'd be willing to bet that Merc, PCM, Indmar, et al. are looking into the new silverado hybrid powerplant as an alternative to conventional powerplants. Very Happy

Before we all run out and invade Venezuela, keep in mind that OPEC does not set the price of oil. Oil is a commodity and its price is set in the trading pits on the floors of the commodity exchanges. When OPEC cuts production slightly, it has far less impact on the price of oil than you would think. The converse is also true.

pureliquid, taxes and environmental wackos.
