| What is the first/easiest invert trick for me to learn? I can hit a 360 fairly consistantly, so I want to move into inverts, but don't know which one to start with. |

I'd go with HS backrolls or the scarecrow (TS). _________________ PEACE

nah, do the ts frontroll before a scarecrow. it is harder but dont skip tricks, not as good in the long run. the 3 easiest ones are the hs backroll, tantrum, and the ts frontroll.....pick as to what feels the most comfortable to you, not neccesisarily what was easiest for other people. just go try them and stick with what you think you can do the easiest, then move on the the others later. _________________ "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

With that said the scarecrow is a more natural rotation in the air and is going to be easier to land HS than doing a TS front roll and landing TS for most people......
I agree 100%, do what feels most natural for YOU..... _________________ PEACE

| Nutural feeling is good, but learning a scarecrow before a frontroll is bad news, just dont do it. when u learn the scarecrow frist 90% of the time the person will learn to throw the trick around behind them insted of going right over the top and then doing the 180. what happenes is they get used to throwing it around and then when they go to learn the front roll the throw it the same way and either they don't get the full rotaion and fall out on their heels or the throw it like their scarecrow and pull it back making it look like a horrible elephant. learn it the proper way from the biggining. it will help you in the long run. As for your question i learned tantrums first, backrolls are also a very natural progression into the invert world. |

Wake_Turner, You make some good points and I do agree to an extent and that's exactly why I said the crow is easier to LAND than a TS front roll. I said nothing about the execution of the tricks.
If someone (that has never done an invert) is doing what you describe above for a TS Front Roll they are 1) not ready for that trick and 2) should be taking it to crow so they can land on their HS edge. If that was formed by a bad habit (like you mention) all they will need to do is make a few adjustments to the way they pull the trick not learn the entire trick all over again.
Most people feel more comfortable LANDING on their HS edge as opposed to their TS edge. Hence making the crow easier to land for the first timer.
I agree learning tricks in a progressive order is always best but when all else fails do what comes natural and go with the flow. _________________ PEACE
