I know what everyone is going to say even before I post...demo. Right now im just looking for personal oppinions from people who own the boards. Right now I have a hyperlite fluid and I really need to upgrade sometime. Now I can either get a 2003 o'brien player before this season starts or i can wait a year for next season and have a 2004 parks. What would everyone do in this situation? If you have the player do you like the ride? I couldn't find much info on that board and I know there is a lot of hype about the parks board. |

Hey hyperfluid37,
Here's some stats:
O'Brien Player 138 - width 16.9", rocker 2.57" - 3-stage / Parks 138 - width 16.8", rocker 2.7" - 3-stage.
Tells me the Parks is going to have more UP than OUT....

pertaining to this question, do boards with a "slider base" ride different than the non-slider based boards? _________________

Fluid to Parks is a big jump. Ever thought of the TFD? Era? I'd say go with the player _________________ ODPC |

I know its a big jump but i dont really want to keep spending money on boards if i progress faster. They are probably good boards but are they priced barely under the parks? If they are then why not just go with the better board right? Im leaning more towards the player but i dont see a lot of people with obrien boards. |

Thats all opinion, alot of people hate the Parks, Just because his name is on it doesn't mean its a better board (Its just hype). The TFD and ERA are both pro-models, so is the player, so they're not going to hold you back.
It's all about finding the board that best suits you, weather its ment to be the best or not. If you feel that the Parks will suit you then get it, if you like the player get that. But have a little look around at some of the other boards too. I'm just trying to warn you alot of people have bought the Parks and have ended up not liking it. (personally I think its OK, but nothing special) _________________ ODPC |

I agree with koltman. The tfd may be a good choice because its continuous, but I would also have the recommend the o'brien vision(continuous). I havn't rode a TFD yet, but you might be able to pick the o'brien up for cheaper. I got mine for $220 brand new and I love it. Demo if you can. _________________ My Gallery

I think i have decided on the player and some liquid force ultras. Is an xl on the ultras going to be enough for a size 11 or should i go with a bigger size? |

good call on the player. It's an excellent board, I rode one fineless and I loved it. It has good pop, and I think it's an overall great board. Same with the Ultra's. Good bindings, I'm very picky on bindings and I love the Ultra's currently I ride the NICE prs1's and like them a lot more than the Ultra's, but I still have a lot of love for the Ultra's. I swore by them until the NICE. The XL's should fit fine with your 11's. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4.
