Personally, I don't think riding with a broken arm is a very smart thing to do and not riding is the best way to keep it waterproof, but probably putting a thick plastic bag and some duct tape around it would work fairly well.
We just got some new snow yesterday so I doubt I'll be riding any time soon. |

| trash bag and duct tape doesnt work, ive taped up my whole cast and then some and it still leaked. after awhile i said fu<k it and rode with nothing, it just smelled and after 4 or 5 times without there was a little soft spot. if you broke a bone in your hand and the cast goes all the way up to the end of your fingers its kinda hard. thats what happened to me. febreze does wonders to smelling casts. it really takes out the sh*t smell. |

| i broke my left arm last summer, i got a bag that is designed to protect your cast in the shower, it has a pump on it to suck out the air an keeps a vacume tight seal, i wore that wakeboarding and it worked well. |

There was a kid around here that had a cast on his arm....for what was broken, I don't know. Anyway, he ended up winning one of the local events in the outlaw division....Talk about tearing it up. _________________

luckysloan777, I wouldn't push using your arm for now, especially if it's the Scaphoid ( aka Navicular) it's a bone in the wrist, which has a very poor blood supply.
Which means that you may have a difficult time with this bone healing. It's not a fun injury by any means and I have know several people who have been through different treatments/surgeries just to get the damn thing healed.
Trust me on this. It's early in the year , give it the full healing time for now. The last thing you want to do is end up wearing a cast for the rest of this year. |

hot damn dragonlady youre pretty smart ...thats exactly what the doctors told me. well my friend broke his, and got tired of wearing it and then cut it off, he said its fine now but im not sure if i will do that. i will probably just wait till it stops hurting and then take the cast off, or check out the waterproof cast, thanks dave. _________________ if it takes POOP to make bliss then i feel pretty blissfully -modest mouse

| Don't risk. Any water that get's in there will drive you mad! You'll probably just break it again anyways if you cut it off early. |

well, heres the dill... all those years of being a sucky skateboarder has paid off. After falling on my wrist about a million times, my little hand bones (???) are all jumbled. sense i broke my scaphoid, all the other bones are rubbing up against it and breaking apart. so what i have to do is rearrange all those bones and then get marrow out of my hip/pelvic and put it on my scaphiod. Im very dissapointed . So everyone be sure to listen to your mom and dad and wear your wrist protectors and knee pads. _________________ if it takes POOP to make bliss then i feel pretty blissfully -modest mouse

| dont cut it off I had the same thing a year ago, and my wrist is still all messed up even after having it on the whole time. You will lose strength dramatically in that wrist and hand and it makes it hard to hang on to the handle for long. I am just now getting back to full strength in that wrist. If it was a different bone I would say go for it but it would be better to wait with this one. |
