When you are idleing in an inboard does the prop spin a little or is it completely stopped. We just bought a 04 malibu wakesetter vlx so I was just wondering. I have never even been on an inboard before. thanks _________________ Jon

young gun, the four blade will move more water per rpm, that lets you haul a$$ quicker and pull a heavier load out of the water, but your top speed will take a small hit. The speed loss and ammount that you can pull are different for every boat. Our Response can do 46mph with our 3 blade and 42-44 with our 4 blade, but you can really tell that the boat practically jumps out of the water. Ask your boat maker for more info. _________________ Pain Heals, Chicks dig scars, but Glory... That lasts forever |

For most applications, you can run an Acme 3-blade and beat the performance of most SS 4-blades and pocket the change for gas money. I sell the Acme 3-blade for $310 shipped in CONUS. The design and constuction is different than the rest of the market. Take a look at standard equipment on many boats and you will see that many manufacturers have gone to the Acme to maximize performance.

I'll vouch for the performance of the Acme 3blades over the 4blade stainless...
it has to do with the surface area of the Acme's and the fact that they're computer machined. The stainless props aren't made to as high of specs that the acme CNC props are.
Acme 4 blade, on SOME boats, are pretty the most performance you're going to get out of the boat.

There are a lot of opinions on props. OJ makes a good prop. Look at the list of who is using what prop for AWSA approved boats and you will find out who has the best technology out there. Acme has the market by and large. OJ has some also.
Comparing the Acme to the OJ:
The Acme has a larger surface area
The Acme has a more precise balance
OJ makes a SS prop, Acme does not
I just spent an hour with a friend at Michigan Wheel who says that thier new prop will challenge the Acme. I asked him for a prop to test. I will see how it goes.
BTW I live just a few miles from both Acme and Michigan Wheel and am friends with some of the workers at both companies. _________________ Original Boarder from 1983

Not yet set, but likely to be between $350 and $400 for a 13" wheel. I heard that a manufacturer tested both props and the Acme had 1/3 of the vibration at 2,500 to 4,800 rpms. I think the Acme still is the state of the art, but numbers don't lie and are not biased. _________________ Original Boarder from 1983
