I was just curious what brand of Camcorders you guys use? I just bought a new one and it has 12x zoom and want to make sure that is enough.
Thanks,
Tom |

12x is better than most. Usually its 10x.
I use a JVC DVM-90

I got a Sony VX-2000. It's supposed to be a good camcorder. I tend to go overboard with gadgets and toys.

John, I had the same problem with people taking crappy videos. I have the camera on a tripod now, and that helps to keep it pretty steady. so now I just have to get them to keep the rider in the shot. Alot of times whoever is taping gets excited when the rider lands something good, and totally forgets that they have to aim the camera. It's all good though, we still get alot of good shots. _________________ "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Benjamin Franklin

i use a canon gl-1. holding the camera still comes with tons of practice. i would stay away from a tripod because its never really as smooth as hand held can be. i would just sit in the back of the boat and set your elbows on the back of the seat cuz there is the least amount of boat movement there. tripods also take up space that could othewise be used for people's leg (and feet room) or sacks. |

I have a JVC something-or-other. 12x zoom is more than enough. You should get a DIGITAL video camera, so you can make movies with your comp to upload to wakepics. |

I just got a Sony TRV-27 for Christmas. This camera is awesome. There are so many different settings and it has a huge LCD screen. This is probably what Derek, Daniel, and I will be using for our next videos.

sharp minidv vlw-450 Has zoom mic, 26x zoom, infa red, 8mb digital memory card(for digital pics). Awesome camcorder. I got it 400 bux refurbished. A great thing to buy is a head cleaner for like 15-20 dolalrs. I have had problems with mine, but it was only because it was dirty. _________________ GOT NAUTIQUE? |

Sony dcr-trv530. It works great for everything I need. I eventually want to upgrade to a 3 ccd camera, but I've gotta get money for a car first. |

We have a digital Sony, not sure which model. It's pretty nice. I like being able to download video clips to the computer. |
