I am pretty new and I have ridden a few times. I was wondering which way to ride, fakie or normal, and how to determine which is best for you. I right hand dominate, so I have been riding with my right foot back, but I am not sure if this is right. Some help please. Cheers.

If you can't tell, do it both ways equally. You'll be better off in the future. _________________ We are wakeboarders and our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain. |

A good way to tell:
Put on some white cotton socks. Find a smooth floor, run and slide on it. Whichever foot you instinctively put forward is more than likely the foot you want in front while wakeboarding. _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

yeah, that may work, just be sure it's white socks and not black or red socks, j/k
the way i tell people is to think about how they would ride a scooter. whichever foot is on the platform should be in front and whichever they kick with should be in back. does anyone not find this to be true?
but i agree, ride both ways. _________________ "...but even if you don't make it, it will only hurt for a minute." |

Have some one push you from behind when your not expecting it. What ever foot goes forward will be your front foot. But if you can go switch already ride both ways it will be worth it in the long run. _________________ ......and one time at wakeboard camp. Come on people say something original. |

Yep, what wakedad1 said. I thought I was right foot forward, so I tried that and then tried left foot and that ended up dominating. You'll figure it out soon enough. |

all of the tests i am suposed to be right foot forward but i ride left. but the bench thing should work. one that im not sure if its true but it seems right is whatever foot you would kick a ball with is your back foot. not sure though. |

i don't think the cotton socks trick really works to well to be honest, I snowboard, wakeboard, and skate regular. But when i slide on ice or on a floor i put my right foot forward a good perecnt of the time, not sure why. I'd say the only acual way to tell is by riding whichever way you feel more comfortable. Although its weird how some people don't no when there comfortable, never could understand that. _________________ it puts the joe dirt in the whole |

The sliding test doesn't apply to me either, but then again I think this question is like asking "which hand should I throw a ball with?" ...the answer being - whichever one is more comfortable or you do better with. If you can ride both ways regular/goofy equal then just practice both as you should be doing anyways. |
