Jib Base or not?

Hi all! The only slider I've ever hit is one of those inflatable Rave sliders. I did it with an 02 Hyperlite Premier. This board has the Pure base. Is the Jib base a lot better? I just bought an 03 and I hope it was a good choice since it has the Jib base. I won't have a chance to slide it for a few months cause I live in IN. I want to hear opinions on the subject so I have an idea of what to expect.

Chili Dog, Im pretty sure your 02 premier did not come with a pure base. That was on the parks, belmont, project, drifter, and motive series. The pure base is the glossy base. The premier and byerly that did not have the jib or pure base in 2002, it was just the basic base. The Urethane/jib base is good for pvc, but from experience, it doesnt hold up on fiberon, or metal very well. The jib base gives it a more controlled feeling. Its softer so it doesnt slide as fast. just so you know they discontinued the jib base. i know a lot of people liked it but i figure that will give you an idea of how it works.

Yeah, I noticed that. Hopefully it holds up decent. We ride one of those Rave sliders in INT comp. They were talking about putting in some permanant sliders this coming year. Wonder if they will use fiberon? Rolling Eyes

Yes, I have. It slides really slow on the grooved fiberon, but feels pretty good on the pvc.
