$269 for two resorts. Probably the same as yours Rene.

Already been 5 times so figure 50 x 5 = 250... one more time and it's more than paid for Very Happy

1759rider, that was an option for all of us but we just can't stand the tourists.

Plus it takes an extra 30 minutes to get there Neutral

chavez-y-chavez - Yeah the tourist suck but I just give them the finger and keep pointing it. We did the sierra and northstar pass last year, so this year we wanted to experiance a new mountain. Next year I will definatly go with ths sugarwood pass. But until then I'll keep riding. The 30 extra minutes don't bother me, as long as I get to board its all worth it.
Also you can't beat the night life. It's always a ton of fun staying in south lake. We're going to hit up alltitude this weekend. Never been so we will see how it is.

Mine was $399 - Mammoth season pass, no restrictions. Also good for 50% off at other Intrawest resorts such as Whistler. Last year I got in 40 days so that works out to $10 per day of snowboarding - NICE!

marcq - It all depends on the weekend, I drive from Walnut Creek area and I average about 3 to 3 1/2 hours. For me I have enough tickets and cop problems so I set the cruise control at about 70 for the most part. A couple weekends ago there was an accident on 50 and it took 5 hours to get home, that sucked. The worst speed trap is on highway 50 between Cameron Park and Placerville, mainly around Shingle Springs, someone is pulled over everytime I drive through.

1759rider, Altitude looked like a major sausage-fest on Saturday. We didn't even bother going in as the guy-girl ratio was like 4:1. Rolling Eyes The sports bar in Ceasars is really cool though, you might want to check that joint out as a hangout spot.

I agree with the nightlife thing. It's a bit different for us because we are coming from the Sacto area and SaT and Northstar are only about 1 hour away and pretty easy to get to, so overnighters are rare. I am all about sleeping in my own bed after a hard day of rippin!

1759rider, the CHP has been running that trap for years now. They have an airborne unit that picks out speeders and radios them to the ground units.

I've seen 5 cars pulled over at a time there! Shocked

That sounds about right with no traffic. On Sundays you either have to leave by 1pm or much later to avoid the big rush home. One year my family and I went up there and it took us 8 hours to get home Shocked because of an accident or highway closure.

Gotta love the Mammoth value pass, they were advertising it like crazy when I was up there for spring break.

I didn't know that Mammoth was run by Intrawest too...that might explain why Whistler and Mammoth are always #1 and #2 respectively in Transworld's resort guide.

Intrawest owns a 49% stake in Mammoth if I remember correctly. That's how Mammoth has been able to invest so much money in new lifts, restaurants, and lodges recently (over $80million last 5 years). Intrawest recovers their investment thru real estate development, like the new village at Mammoth. They've been very successful and it's meant that housing prices in Mammoth have skyrocketed.

The next big step for Mammoth will be the expansion of the airport to allow for larger planes such as 737 and 757 to land. The Sierra Club and some locals are fighting Mammoth/Intrawest on the issue and it's been tied up in court for a while. Mammoth wants air service to bring in the week long visitors instead of just having the SoCal people drive up on weekends. The goal is to turn Mammoth into a destination resort instead of a locals mountain.

I wouldn't mind that...I'm originally from AZ and the first time I went there it was a 12+ hour drive. I would definitely rather have flown.

I got the college pass for Stevens, Mission Ridge, and Schweitzer for $269. Not a bad deal. I haven't been up there yet because I'm home for break (I've been going to Hood), but I'll go a lot once I'm up at school.
