I like blanks, they're just as durable as major label decks & cost half as much.

If I had to pick a brand I'd go with Habitat, super solid decks with great pop. By default that adds DNA & AWS since they're all pressed by the same company. I've ridden DNA's & they're solid too, but I've never had an AWS so I can't comment on those.

Harvest boards are a nice local company, their boards are only $15 and really light, almost light to the point that they break easily, but that sort of depends on the person riding it. My friend Jesh has broken 6 boards in a week (most which he got for free).

My personal favorites are Consolidated, their boards slide well and last long, and dont delam very easily. Theres been a couple times when they've fallen all the way from the top of the 7 foot punk wall straight onto the nose and the end didn't explode.

What kind of blanks? That's the point of the blank, no name. I know Powell has their mini-logo thing or whatever, but companies don't produce blanks. If they have logos on 'em they're usually the logo of the shop that you buy them from.

My first deck ever was a Plan B Colin McKay. I loved that deck for so long and wanted it forever and finally my parents bought it for me.
Since then though I've only ever skated Danny Way's deck, right now the Danny Way Noir by Alien Workshop. Its nice and wide, with a good tail and not too much concave.

Anything 8.25 wide or over. Who cares what brand? The wide boards are getting hard to find

Jester,
Yup, you've got me! Although I try to skate everything, and am getting more into street now, my roots are vert, bowls and pools. We are actually building a vert ramp in our back yard now because we are all so sick and tired of travelling to skate a decent ramp. I guess all the cool kids are skating street nowadays! LOL!

Anyone else out there skate vert?

Zara,

I never had access to good ramps/bowls so I learned freestyle. Now I'm trying to translate that to street, but it's not easy. I can rock to fakie on a ramp, that's about it.

It's funny, I could tell you were a bowl rider 'cuz we like opposite boards. You like wide boards with flat concave so it stays on your feet when boosting big airs. I like thinner boards with tons of concave so I can flip the board by just giving little flicks.

SJK1454 Its cool to see hear someone else rides something other than birdhouse, element, alienworkshop, etc....nothing against those companies at all, but I just like my Flip board.
My Rowley deck seems to flex a little more than other boards...is it just me or is that how Flip decks are?

My first deck was a schmidt stix. Right now I have a mike Valley with the elephant face on the bottom. It's the 7.75 model, I think I'm going to go up to 8.25 for my next board though. I like the valley a lot, I've also liked lib tech, baker, and one from a local shop here.

I'm not down with the lib tech boards, I hve one we use on the trampoline but the nose, tail, & concave are way to steep from what I have seen. Black Label pretty much owns it. They have got a sick team too

I have an Expedition One at the moment, My all time favourite was a Danny Wainwright 'Ninja' board by Powell, nice concave, great shape, awesome graphic and bulletproof. I rode it with G4's, Censored Hush Puppies Urethane and SKF bearings, best ride ever until it was stolen Crying or Very sad

I also has a Rune Glifberg Flip deck, with the Glifberg bottle top graphic, nice board but a touch too light.

i was riding a saari flip, actually two, they are seriously the best boards. and the shape was awesome. they last for ages. but now im riding a powell from 1980, oldschool boards are even better to ride, if you ever get the chance to try an old one, do.

personally, I skate so hard that after a while, you cant see the graphic on the deck. I usually go for blanks, but if I had to choose, it would be the "American Punk" by zero. Its pretty chill
