96 Malibu response??

my buddys got a 96 malibu response ski boat. I usually ride behind this crappy outboard, and was wondering if we bought some fat sacks and weighted the malibu down, would it make a good wake?? also how much weight should we use??

You're going to need atleast a literal 'ton' of weight for that boat to throw a big wake.

This boat runs on a similar hull to the current VLX. They did not change the response hull to the diamond hull until 98. With this in mind you should be able to get a nice rampy wake. I used to have the same hull on my Echelon. The best setup we found was one fat sack on each side of the engine and a tube sack in the ski locker. The wake was big and clean past 75 feet. The other thing this configuration allowed was more room for seating. It should be a big difference from the Outboard wake.
