Hi
Iīm an European wakegirl and get cracy!!!!!!!
I tried 50 frontrolls an donīt land . I think, I pop off the wake right. I have the height, I need. But my rotation is to slow. When I do the rotation faster, i do the trick to early. And when I wait enough, the rotation is to slow. What can I do ???

Thanks a lot

Nina

Wait as long as you can and keep the handle posted to the front hip....
This is a hard landing to spot, I assume you can do other inverts?
This isn't the easiest one out there you know....

I'd say the CROW is easier than a regular old front roll.IMO..

most trouble on this trick is usualy the approach to the wake. mostly from hips that are down. and yes scarecrow is easier. just make sure you feel the load on your back arm all the way in and up the wake.

crow is just short for scarecrow. ok if your landing back rolls thats a start. do you not have on video your front roll attempts? if you have then make a link.

Scarecrow is far easier to land than the scarecrow because you are landing on a heelside edge and not on your toes like a front roll. With the front roll many attempts you land on your heels from lack of rotation. make sure your hips and head are realy up on your approach very important!

easier trick to learn is a toeside backroll

look at the trick tips they help a whole lot.

on the scarecrow remember to drop your rear shoulder and make the board go over top ov you instead of out behind like a s bend. Wink

OH, i have been trying to learn a more s bend type of scarecrow and think they look much better. as for dropping your shoulder its important to leave the wake first. i can do the up and over crow but think apart from easy to grab it does not look as good.
here is one of mine from the weeekend and im trying to throw it more behind me by not easing up at the wake. i am having trouble with slack on landing though.

nina notice the hips MUST be really up at the wake on your toeside inverts.

just to add. ignore my scarecrow. the best way is to look at the higher education volume 2. it not only explain the tricks well but gives you breakdown of common problems.

Learn the toeside front roll first. Once you have that dialed than go into the crow. Its the same trick with just a 180 added.

Learn the fundamentals first. You would not try 360's before you learned to go wake to wake would you?

good Luck!

I take it you do both tricks?

It is a matter of preference and a front roll is a far harder trick to land and many will agree. some videos show the roll first and some the crows first. you can be a total beginner to initiate a front roll but no way a beginner to land one.

if you are stuck on a trick then move on, then go back with a fresh approach

Grouch why do you think a TS front roll is easier then a Scarecrow?
Because of the 180 in the crow?

for the crow ---
The bodies natural rotation of the wake if you keep two hands on the handle is open up while upside down. Also IMO landing on your HS edge facing the boat is always going to be easier than leaning way over the front TS ,edging away from the boat making sure you don't slip out.

Kuhen-
Try taking your s-bendy crow to mobe or even grab it for that matter, it wont happen.....
as the sayn' goes "a good crow looks like you just came out of a big front flip".
You also have way less time to spot the landing the way you are tryn' to do them.... I know I used to do them that way.
Up and over is a much easier rotation, easier to spot the landing and is to proper rotation for grabbing and taking it to Mobe.

J_DOGG,

I didnt say it was easier, I just said that you should learn the trick step by step otherwise if you learn crows first than learn front rolls its going backwards.

Understood-----I don't agree with you but I understand what you are sayn'...

step by step is not always the best approach for some tricks, momentum and individual rider tendencies are key elements in how someone progresses through a trick and the over all trick progression someone should take.
IMO. you know what they say about opinions' though right? (they are like A$$ holes every one has one) LOL...... see I can laugh at myself....

I'm with ya Grouch.....it's all good bro....

"J" i know what you mean about s bendy type crows. i have been trying for a couple of weeks to get them more s bendy! not to grab. the board is too far away or mobe but just for throwing it different. front flip type crows are no problem for me. been doing them a while, just wanted to throw them big and hard edged. as for mobe yes you can, i will put up an mpeg tomorow. it baffled me because very sbendy but short approach, looks wicked.
i am glad someone has the same view on the front roll. i have noticed, not saying on these messages but i hear lots of opinion and tips from guys who cant even do the tricks!

just uploaded it. wicked and looks very technical but im sure you will agree it can be done
