aFramer have you seen the orginal one or better yet all the other Texas chainsaw massacre movies they made, or even other horror movies that have come out recently. I would have to say this one beats all the horror movies that have come out in the past couple years. Ive never been to a horror movie wear i could actually see everybody jump.

i would have to say that this is the scariest and most disturbing movie I have seen since "The Ring". All I have to say is that I am never going to pick up any hitch-hikers.

IMHO, there is no movie more disturbing than the original TCM. Just the grittiness of the filming, the music or ambience sounds I guess, and the constant screaming. Best horror movie ever. This new one would have to do alot to top the original, so much that I don't think it can be done. It's soooo hard nowadays to actually sit through a so called horror movie and not wanna get up and leave within the first 20 minutes or so. The only new one that I can say was done the way horror movies should be is House Of 1000 corpses. All these typical teen slasher hollywood crappers are getting very tiresome. Just my two cents

I watched Dreamcatchers the other night....I was pretty disappointed in the outcome. It went from interesting, to a little far fetched, to straight up comical.....I was slightly disturbed to find out that you could actually shite an alien
I was waiting to see what the masses had to say about TCM before I go and see it.....everyone I've talked to said it was worth seeing....gonna have to check it......oh yeah, Jessica Biel's hot!

couldnt have said it better. However...that scene right before they find the guy in the bathroom, and all through the toilet scene was pretty good, but then it just got bad after that....

Okay, you wanna get real creeped out? Here is the link to Eddie Gein's story. This guy is the real deal. What he did inspired movies such as Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (sorry, it isn't real), and Silence of the Lambs (Buffalo Bill character). Pretty messed up.

On the topic of saws and massacres, I was cutting some wood this morning and the the saw slipped and sliced down my thumb. Got a cut halfway down my nail straight through to the other side... doesn't feel to good, just got back from the hospital... Got some tylenol 3s though, so it works out ok in the end... Talk about scary

Very interesting to read about Eddie... Reminds me of the guy in Red Dragon - his childhood at least.
So the TCM didn't actually happen? What's with the ads saying it is? Or is it just loosely based on historic serial murders?

| The whole thingy at the beginning is not a true story. The fact that Ed Gein (ie Leatherface) wore human skin, ate flesh, blah, blah, blah, is however true.

| It was just a manual, handheld teethed saw... haha I think someone called it a cross-cut saw? Not too sure, the T3s might be affecting my mental capacity... I was planning on using a jig but the damn thing wouldn't work, so I had to do it by hand. Too bad... oh well I got an excuse to be waited on and not do anything around the house... for today at least...

i think there both awsome, but the fact that ive seen the new one on the big screen and what not makes it that much better for me, most movies jsut dont have the impact that they do on the bigscreen.

Kind of like the Blair Witch Project. Hollywood, believe it or not, isn't always honest.

| Yeah, I found that on the web. I don't think anyone said it yet. I read up on some reviews of the movie, sounds like it depicts Ed and his Mother real well, without trying to be too creepy or gory, just showing it how it was, which is psycho enough. I guess it's kind of low budget. I'll let ya know if I ever watch it.

toothpick,
don't waste your time, it's a low budget indie film. It's just stupid...only got about 30 minutes into it. House of a 1000 Corpses is crazy though.
