Good story for you guys... Last Sunday, after wakeboarding all weekend, we had just put the boat in the slip and I was handing everything off of the boat to my GF. I had my car keys hooked to a bag (one of those one's that goes around your waste) with one of those clasp latches. Just as I handed the bag to my GF the keys came unclipped and fell right into the water. I have a new car with on one of those computerized keys that are really expensive to replace. Not to mention that we now had no way home. I grabbed the gaff out of the boat and turned on the depth finder to see how deep it was there, crap 10 feet. The gaff was exaclty 10 feet so I started feeling around on the bottom of the Delta with the gaff (If you have ever seen the Delta in a marina slip, you know why I did not get into the water), about 30 minutes later, I felt something, pulled up the gaff and there were the keys. I went to grab them carefully and they fell right back into the water...SHIZZLE!!! I tried for about another 30 minutes with the gaff and nothing, so I decided to take my 6 year old Pioneer IMAP 12" sub out of the boat and tie it to the end of the gaff (no not stilll in the box). I fished around with that for about 45 minutes and got nothing. Just then, a friend, who had gone to the hardware store for us to get a net and a different magnet, showed up. I hooked the net (the ones that you use to get leaves out of your pool) to the end of the gaff and fished out huge gobs of delta gunk!!!, nothing!!!! as a last resort, I figured I would try the little magnet that came from the hardware store. After the thierd attempt, I came up with the keys!!!! I still have not tried to see if the speaker works or not, I think it will..... It is not paper or anything... but we will see!!!! The point to this story??? If you drop your keys in the water and you can't just jump in and get them, then try the small magnet that they sell at the hardware store, don't waste your subs!!!! LOL...

He didnt even pause just jumped right in, went to the bottom and came right back up with em. I didnt even have time to bitch him out b4 he got em!!

No there not, that is why I did not call it that, I was hoping to slip it past everyone... damn-it brad ruleman. Anyways, I don't ware it, I just put my wallet and shizzle in it. It makes it easy, and the water near the marina.... If you put your hand in it 3 inches deep, it COMPLETLY disappears. Plus, in my marina, they are dredging, so it is even worse. Plus, at the bottom of the Delta, especially in the marina areas, the ground is soft about 12 inches down and is made of mud and oil and god only knows what else. Its really nasty. There is no where in the Dalta where you can see the bottom. No matter the depth.

We have lost tons of keys. The last one this summer was in 175ft at the boat dock. I told her to just forget it.

Ouch, 175ft. You can hire divers to get them. It's about $100 bucks. That is pretty deep though. I think I am going to lock my keys in the car from now on, and actually use that stupid key pad on the outside for once.

Ha, my buddy lost his keys this past weekend. The fool put them on the corner of the dash on the driver's side. I just jumped into the water to take my last barefoot run of the day. He starts going and just as i get my ass on plane he's turning around. The water was only 5-6 ft. deep so the mucky sandy bottom got all washed up and we never found the keys. What a clown.

one time our boat keys slipped out of my hand and got stuck in between the 2x4's on the dock and it took forever to get them out.

Ok, Ok, Ok, AM I JUST STUPID?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

What's wrong with putting your keys IN YOUR POCKET! My keys are in my pocket when I get into the boat and go straight into the driver's side gunwhale. When we are getting out, they go straight from the gunwhale to my pocket.

Never had a problem. That's why man invented pockets - to keep things from being dropped.

Wet shorts? Big deal, the pocket still works fellas.

when a set of keys that doesn't have the float thing on it, we put them in the cupholder by the ballast switches or in the glovebox
