| I always have face plants when I ride. I want to try butterslide but I think backslide should be a little better with the face plant. How do I do a backslide? can anyone tell me step by step? any help? |

| I would rather faceplant any day than be thrown on the back of my head!.....start with the butterslide.......all you need to do is get on the lip of the wake....point your toes up, put your weight on your heels and kinda lift the board's edge out of the water..... backslide do the opposite, weight on your toes, raise your heels to keep the edge out of the water..... |

For sure!! Last weekend I was tryin to pull a surface 3, I stalled and landed on the back of my dome/left ear. Hurt like a mother! My ears were ringing the rest of the day and the top of my ear swelled up where I have my earring. i like face plants much better |

| If you can do a butterslide outside of the wake, that's a good starts. Can you do a powerslide? Cut outside the wake, level off and then spin 90 degrees to the back, you'll want to have your weight heavily over the front. It helps to have your free hand touching the water for balance. Be careful letting off the slide, that's where the headplants come in. It takes guts, but when you want to do it, you have to really comitt to it otherwise you will do a bad headplant. Any kind of plant hurts pretty bad, but you just get used to it. Be careful about headplanting on the side of your head because I just busted my eardrum and that is the worst. Avoid it at all costs, it's very scary. |

another thing to keep in mind when trying any kind of slide is to have good handle control. When you turn your board for a butterslide or a powerslide, make sure to keep the handle low, by your hips. thatt'll help keep your balance right, so you never get too far over your toes to do a faceplant. _________________ SlidingGlass.com
