I've smacked my head really good against a few times ice before. It messes up your entire day, sometimes the whole trip. Ever since I got a helmet, I haven't regretted it. Not only do they protect your head on bad falls, but they're warmer than and just as comfortable as any hat.

I started wearing one last year. The only reason I do is because I've had a few close calls with some trees. Now I feel naked with out wearing one. My mom was probably the happiest one knowing I wear it.

I used to wear a helmet all the time, but I've kinda stopped recently. It seems like I have better balance without one, and I almost force myself to land stuff because without a helmet, you can get worked.

I always wear a helmet. I've had a couple close calls with trees and thats all it took for me to sport a helmet. Better safe then sorry. Plus it keeps you warm and holds your goggles way better.

Its great to at least have a helmet. I wouldnt be able to stand wearing it all the time.
Last year I fell off a jib, landed on my face, hyperextended my back and my board flipped around and smacked me in the dome. I had a huge indent in my helmet. Thank god I was wearing a dome protector. They are just good for those days when you feel like gettin crazy

Habersham, where are you riding that requires you to where a helmet?? I had heard talk of that, but I never thought any one would seriously do it.

I'm 33, no one is making me and I wouldn't ride with out it.... even when I free ride, I never crash but still wouldn't even get on the lift with out it....

5 years strong with helmet and no one has made fun of me yet.... plus they are nice and warm....

I wear 1 all the time and i'm so glad i started to. I've smacked my head so hard last year it wasn't even funny. Although now that i think about it it kind of is. Anywho, I know that about 5 or 6 times last year i would have gotten a cuncussion if i wasn't wearing it and if u haven't had one bleieve me, it's much better wearing a helmate than not being able to see straight, having the worst headache in your life, and throwing up all night.

It sure seems to me that helmet use has been increasing a lot the last few years. Anyone else notice that? When I first started riding about 10 years ago nobody wore helmets. Last year it seemed like almost everyone was. JDOGG, I'm like you (a teenager trapped in an older guy's body) but I've never worn a helmet. Last year I almost bought one. This year I'm buying a whole new setup and I think I'm going to include helmet in the budget. Just seems silly to take a chance, especially if you like to push yourself.

I'm going to buy one. Due to my college sports I have been riding timid the past 4 years. Now that I'm done and can break myself I think I'll wear a helmet. Might also boost the confidence levels.

I bought one last and love it. head stays warm and protected. No close calls though. Maybe this year if I'm lucky enough to be pushing myself enough Shocked .

Anyhowzit, if you're going to buy one make sure it has vents. I bought one without vents and returned it after one day. All the heat and moisture from my head went straight into my goggles. Couldn't see a thing.

I got the Pro Tec Free ride and picked up some ear pads for it.

That snow can be hard so I wear one all the time. I fell once and dislocated a shoulder, that made me realize how close my head came to being smacked...worn a helmet ever since...wouldn't be without it. bones will heal in time but no cure for brain damage!
