It all depends on what you're more comfortable with. I've been going for fs but i just spin easier that way. Some people like bs better cuz u have longer to spot the landing.
Just try both and see which u like better. _________________

You are more likely to go off axis on a backside spin and catch a bad edge, initiating a backside spin is always more unorthodox because you are rotating in an opposite direction of what should feel natural. A backside 3 is a tough trick to master. And its harder to cheat, your first 180 is rotated away from the boat so you cant give a good yank on the handle until after you completed the handle pass.
Frontside spins should feel much more fluent, they are easier to initiate. All you have to do is stand tall and come off your edge as you leave the wake, then just pull the handle to your rear hip and meet it with your other hand at the small of your back. Check out the trick tips section on the main page for step by step instruction. |

im working on the blind 360. ive come real close. so far i can do a hs fs 3, ts fs 3, ollie 3, and switch hs fs 3........ but no blind 3. i would definately say its hard. hah. ya its just not a natural spin. it requires much more control. _________________ Go Big. Go Bigger. Bubb Rubb going home. |

Think of it this way, would it be easier to do the HS FS 180 or the HS BS 180?
I'd start with the HS FS 3 if I were you, some people can spin better BS but it's an anomaly and they never make them look as good as they should.
Try a TS FS 3 some people find those easier than the HS FS 3...it's just a real blind landing and took me a while to stop myself from going 540 with the hips.... The whole trick can be done with out passing the handle until you land, it feels cool that way.... _________________ PEACE

fifeman, Throw the 3 FS HS next. I actually was landing the FS HS 3 way before the FS TS 3. IMO, the TS 3 is alot easier. Add style and grab the tricks...grab everything! _________________ www.MidwestMilitia.net |

| Can anyone tell me why I am having such a problem with my ts fs 3's. I have probably tried 100 of them this year, and I totally have the trick, but for some reason I get off axis in the last 90 degrees of rotation. Then the board slides out from underneath me. Either that or I go all the way to 5 and I land perfectly and the handle pops out of my hand. What am I doing?? |

| i bet that the last 90 degrees the boat is pulling you towards it and that makes u off-axis. make sure to keep the handle in throughout the whole trick. this might help, i mean it was the only thing i could think of. |

That's totally the way to learn new stuff. If you're in the groove and just feel that you should try something, I say do it. I've learned 3 moves that way. It's sweet.
needtoride, you're most likely coming off your edge and/or starting the spin too early. Make sure you edge through the wake and really wait on that spin. Edge away from the wake on your toes and look the direction you edge on the landing. If you still can't get it, try it just one wake with no cut, then gradually take that bigger. |
