Anybody been pulled behind a 1999 (or similar) Moomba Mobius? How do the wakes compare with say (biggest to smallest I've been behind) an: 02 Mobius/Launch, X-star, Malibu Euro, 18' 6 cyl I/O?
Can you add hydraulic wake plates to a boat like this? How much? Worth it?
Thanks |

the hull on that year is different from the new ones. And not very good for wakeboarding. Even with a ton (literally) of weight the wake was at best mediocre.
If you've ridden behind an X you'll be extremely dissapointed. _________________ "I don't understand...what is this NO WAKE zone you speak of?...and what does it mean?" |

I would agree, the wake is not that large, but it was my first boat and it was affordable. Easy to work on and good starter boat. If you weigh it down it will throw a ok wake, but the nose is submergable. You can take on water going into rollers at a slow speed. I now own a supra launch. Huge differnce. Also the hull on the 99 is totally different then the 2001 hull. Get the 01 if you can. |

I think the hull on the 99 Mobius is the same as on my 2001 Outback. Definetly not as big as the 02 Launch/Mobius but I am really happy w/ my boat. I like it a lot better than the old I/O. You still get the V-8 and the wake is a good shape and big enough to et some good air. We put about 1400# in ours, 4 phatbuddies, 2 beside the engine 1 in front 1 in back. You definetly have to be careful about the nose diving. |
