i want to either get the 04 xlv from moomba or the 04 ssv from supra, both pretty loaded (heater, shower, gravity games bags) my concerns are these. i love the new xlv because its a monster 23ft and holds 16 people....huge gotta love that. however the interior on moombas is not quite that of a supra. the SSV is tried and true it's about 1K more dollars from what i've heard from the dealer. In the same situation what would some of you do, i love being able to carry all my friends out to party but i dont want to sacrifice the quality or the wakeboard quality either.

Ive read from SSV owners that the XLV wake is better than the SSV. A test drive/ride might be in order.

I have to say the people at Skiers choice know how to make and awsome boat. I rode in the xlv yesterday that pulled the gravity game. They have gotten the interior of a moomba to the same quality as a supra. The wake is crazy behind it. Unlike the new wakesetter this thing can get ot of the hull quick even when loaded with 2500 #'s. The new wakesetter even with the 8.1 liter engine sucked getting out of the hull and the moomba only has the 320 hp motor. On the XlV they added some room to the back compartments this also lets you work on the engine easy. you can get right to the impeller without digging through tight places. I would take the XLV if it was me. I have pics that i will post when i find my card reader.

George, The 8.1 sucked! It had insane torque when I drove one back in the early Spring. That is 115 more HP than the 320.

All i can say is that it took the wakesetter a good 15 seconds to get on plane and te XLV a good 8 seconds. They both are about the same size and had the same weight bu' probably less and it took it much longer and worked the engine harder.

George, and Shawn Madison, Georges report seems strange, although the 115hp extra really doesnt have a huge amount to do with it. This is a torque issue, not a power (hp) issue.

In saying that however, An 8.1L will have a sheiteload more torque than a 5.7L (I think thats the size of the XLV enging) engine....

You guys think what you want. I rode in the malibu all day at a tournament, they had to take weight out of it so it would take have the course to plane out.

George your right we did take weight out. But there was a lot of lead in the back. Allso they have changed the prop from the boat we used in the tournement. That being said for the money I like the xlv a lot more mostly because of Matt. He is a super nice guy that really knows boats. He is allso a great rider.

I can tell you from experience with Malibu's that need weight in the bow. I usually put a 500lb sac in the walkway and the wake is perfect. The boat planes right away.
