George Clooney=idiot

Did anyone hear about Clooney's mean spirited remarks about Charlton Heston's alzeimers disease? His remarks about this and being against the NRA (gun lobby) are unamerican and out of control. I will never spend another dime on his movies or anything else he is involved with. I wish the majority would do the same. What a sorry excuse for an American! Do some research on this guy and you will find out just how unamerican he is.

An opinion is one thing, but joking on his disease is another. I will never pay to see one of his movies again.

I do believe that it is healthy for our country to have different beliefs. But this guy is supposed to be a respected public figure and I think it is childish for him to bash someone because of their disease. -----There is a big difference between having an opinion and being unamerican.

I will watch his movies in the future, assuming they are worth seeing.

meanwhile back to the discussion, there is a difference between fooling with your friends and joking on someone you dont know personally because of his/her political affiliation. thats just dumb, charlton heston, a conservative would have said something about a liberal rockstar with a disease the media would be calling for his head

I never defended the comments. I just thought you guys were being a bit too serious. I did think his comments were definately mean-spirited. Clooney is probably anti-NRA though and so that's why he probably said it.

Guys...is it really worth getting all bent out of shape about? So he made some bad comments/jokes, big deal. You've never made bad comments/jokes in your life? Public figure or not, it's not a big deal. Public figures make stupid comments all the time. You guys gonna get pissed about all of 'em?

Life's to short to trip out on someone else's actions.

First off, we have to stop thinking of actors and musicians as respected public figures. So you can pretend to be something you are not, and you get paid for it. That doesn't mean your opinion is worth a dime when it comes to politics or anything else, for that matter.

In a country that has its share of Nobel Prize winners, why do we give more than one millisecond's thoughts to what George Clooney or Sean Penn has to say about anything but acting?

And why do people listen to Bono when he speaks? What the hell does Bono know? Like someone who sings for a living is any wiser than the guy down the street who works on an assembly line?
