If things work out I might be spending more time in Port Aransas.
So I think I want a boat I can use on the coast. I don't want to spend a bunch of money and would like something used.
What do I need to go off shore in Port A? Twin outboards? How big of a boat?
I need to be safe.
This is probably where PartyB can fill me in on everything I need. _________________ Wakeskating

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but we don't give boat advice. lol Too many variables from budget to uses. Doesn't seem like you know a lot about offshore so recommend you just get a boat to get started. Just like your first wakeboard, you'll likely get another one once you figure out what you like.
The best site to ask and search for answers about almost any kind of saltwater boat is https://www.thehulltruth.com/
You can see my boat walk-through here which will give you a good overview:

2coolfishing.com is a Texas fishing site that has good forums. To get experience, you can usually find someone looking for crew (split expenses and labor, not charter) to go with. I have made good friends doing this.
On the cheap, I'd consider something like this:
https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1999/boston-whaler-26-outrage-3584224/
Twins are not necessary if you have a good 4 stroke motor, I would feel safe 20-30 miles out snapper and king fishing with a single and an epirb.
We fish out of Freeport but our ride is currently still docked in the Exumas.(thanks Covid!) _________________

I was looking at something like that. Center console. I am worried about the single engine. I don’t want to be lost at sea!
The beach house is purchased so I need another boat. _________________ Wakeskating

Forgot to add one other thing - you can often find other people who are planning on going the same day (whenever the wind quits and the seas allow you) and you can "buddy" boat (stay within radio distance of each other) so if you need help there is another boat close by. _________________

We use a Garmin InReach so we can text back and forth to people on land. And it also functions as an Epirb. And then we have a regular EPIRB. And then we have a liferaft. Yeah, I don't wanna be lost out there either! _________________

I've started doing my homework. I do have a friend that does some bay fishing and said that he does go out if things are calm. I should have someone to at least get me started locally. _________________ Wakeskating
