big day for the 'horns! picked up 6 commits in the last 24 hours or so - all 6 in the rivals top 250 nationally. rumors that saban being saban w/ a commit could land texas another before the day is done as well.

I highly dislike when only the middle 50% of logos are shown. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

There's Cal at the top of the list yet again! And with such a great looking logo, too!
Also anyone feel like sharing their opinions on Spavital? Apparently he'll be OC at Cal... _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

not really sure about him as an oc, because atm was so dysfunctional the last couple of years w/ all the off field/sideline/behind the scenes issues. no idea how much of that was him vs sumlin. ostensibly, he's got good bloodlines for offense (malzahn/gundy/holgerson/sumlin), so he and dykes seem to be a fit. but on the surface, i think he ignores the run game, and that hurt atm when they had to move the chains. |

I sat with a former A&M quarterback last night at an alumni function. He was of the opinion that Spavital is the reason Kyle Allen left. This guy didn't care for Kyler Murray and thought it was best that he left. He thought Kyle Allen would still be at A&M if Spavital was given a pink slip after the A&M/LSU game. |

it's unbelievable how stupid you choose to be.
baylor didn't exist until briles got there, and now briles is gone and the rest of that staff will be gone within a couple of weeks. the president of the university is gone, and the athletic director is likely next. anyone and everyone who built that program to where it was the last couple of years is gone. the ncaa is headed to waco and the independant report published yesterday stated clearly "lack of institutional control". it looks like the kids who signed their loi in feb are going to get released - a couple have already started the petition process on their own. several verbal commits for the 2017 class have decommitted and there's not a snowball's chance in hell they pull anything close to what they have in the last couple of years w/ a new coaching staff and all this controversy hanging over them.
texas played for 2 national titles in the last 10 years and has 3 losing seasons over that time. tennessee hasn't sniffed a bcs bowl since y2k and has 5 losing seasons in the last 10. even if texas had 20 years like the last 20 tennessee had, they'd still be the biggest, richest, program in college football and tennessee still couldn't make the $ec!$ec!$ec! ccg. |

Is the BIG12 going to expand? Is BYU a front runner?
Though it would be really run to be able to drive 40 minutes and be able to see teams from the BIG12 come in and play, I secretly enjoy rubbing G5 @ BYU fans. |

EJ, yep, they are expanding. If they are willing to take schools as football only members, then I think BYU is in for sure. If not, they may have too many issues to work through. I am hoping football only is an option as it may be BSU's only shot. |

Seems odd for a B5 Conference to take a school as a football only member.
I think you're correct in the fact that BYU would have issue to get by with their hard stance on no Sunday play, because A LOT of the B12 sports play on Sunday, radio here listed off the numbers from last year and it was significant. |

Just a few days until Scott A.'s Bears take the field.
BYU names 26 year old Taysom Hill their starter. Backup QB, Tanner Mangum is a spry 22 y/o true Soph, turns 23 in 2 weeks.
BYU's 1 & 2 combined age of 49.....49 |

And i'll be camping, so I wont get to see the game live.
Here's a really cool article about the game, and how much work is going into it from Cal's side of things. Basically, Cal has to provide ALL the equipment...yikes! - http://www.pressreader.com/usa/san-francisco-chronicle-late-edition/20160823/281513635569378
Some stats:
7,432 miles from SFO to Sydney
16 hours in the plane
Cal was able to charter one 777 for:
105 players (75 needed to get a passport for the trip)
167 support staff members
9,500 lbs of football equipment
4,000 lbs of medical gear
2,000 lbs of video gear
300 lbs of radio equipment
Interior of the plane was modified so that there was room for players to run and stretch on the flight
Marshawn Lynch is on the trip, and took some scout team reps in full gear
Team flew out last week and got in 5 practices
Expected attendance is 75k (stadium holds 85k)
They had to ship the field goals out in advance because the Aussies don't have college-sized field goals.
$1 million profit was written into the deal. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

i finf it had to believe it was cheaper to ship the field goals than make them there. do they not have 4" steel pipe in oz?
lynch taking scout reps is pretty awesome! |

Surprised, not sure why with these teams, how bad both defenses are playing. |

Yeah, well, when you're undefeated and averaging 50+ points a game on offense, your defense can afford to let the 'bad guys' get a few extra points.
Also, I'm glad the game was on ESPN because I could just watch the replay on watchespn app, but I feel like it was just one big announcement for all the games that ESPN is broadcasting this coming Saturday. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

Can you win 24-0 against a FCS team and be disappointed in the D and happy with the offense?
Well, the passing game was very good. Too many penalties and the run game was sketchy.
Surprised the D was gashed on runs so many times. Maybe I'm being a little critical, only gave up 7 1st downs and sub 200 yards total offense. But I think this D has the ability to be one of the best in the country.
Missing Domo Hatfield sucks, hope he's back by PAC12 play, he's a shut down corner. Even next week, with BYU expected to throw the ball all over, may be a thorn.
1-0 is better than 0-1, but work to do. |

Nah they will turn it around and show out at Battle at Bristol..........I hope.
I hate our offensive coordinator. I said over and over again last year we need to fire him, and I still feel the same. He is f'ing terrible. |

was also michigan's oc when appst beat them 9 years to the day (thurs).
be interesting to see if tenn drops in the polls. needing ot and opponent errors to steal a game at home vs a g5 team...not top10 material. |
