Both boys love to jump. Our ramp is pretty safe so hitting it actually isn't that big of a deal for Caiden. It's about 60' right now....

But hitting this 85+' triple at Washougal scared the crap outta me. He is one of around 6 kids to ever clean this on a 65..........

Nice! My old boss rode that track many times in his life, and so did his son. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that his son was one of the kids that's cleared that triple, as well.

Tracktor, nice whip! Love the triple on the 65! Looks like he had it pinned out of the corner all the way to the lip. You need to get another camera angle next to the jump face. Get ready for broken bones.

We had discussed jumping it before the moto and I had discouraged him from doing it as it wasn't necessary. I rarely forbid as the boys know enough to make their own decisions we just talk about risk/reward ratios. I didn't really think he would do it as I had done it and it was one of the biggest track jumps I had hit in awhile & I have jumped pretty much everything around here. If I'd know I would've got side video as the lip was huge!............Next time.........

Bucci & SVP tonight.... Think I recognize that...

& in equal dump, the Terrorist is crushing. Her 10U boys are not doing great(.500), but her 12U girls are UNDEFEATED, the banners are rolling like the salmon of Capistrano. Her U14 team is playing great(playing outside club) but she's crushing her club(plays against them in tourneys, they have a no age up policy). When I say played great(last visit)1 goal, 1 assist, + 2 in a 2-3 loss. She monsters, it's fun to watch sometimes. Had 2 goals last visit, not an outlier.

We were working at the house Saturday and our youngest was going through a couple scrap piles. We've been cleaning or burning most of the construction waste and it seems others have decided our house is a dump spot for them, too. He managed to find some nice cedar lumber pieces and decided to keep them so he could build something. He decided he wanted to make a simple desk, so we worked together to make one out of the cedar, some scrap 2x4's and pallet wood. He did most of the main cuts and fitting himself. We think it turned out pretty good.

Sprayed a couple coats of polyurethane on it this weekend to finish it. He also stained the legs and trim pieces with a very light stain. The stained pine and unstained cedar ended up matching up pretty good once we did the poly.

I've gotta say I'm proud of our oldest and his effort this weekend. We decided to tackle a tune up on his car ourselves. To do a change of the spark plugs and wires on the Mitsubishi he has requires the removal of the intake manifold. It was the better part of the day to get it done, but we researched what it would take, took our time and worked through it together.

We decided to work on a couple pallet repurposing projects this weekend. Our youngest has been wanting to build a headboard and/or bed frame. He found a couple cool ideas to get the basic sizing and style down and took it from there. He got the headboard built and still has a little trim work to do. I think it's looking pretty cool and he is definitely improving his basic carpentry skills.

My Little One has tried out for and been selected to go compete in one of(arguably the best) hockey tournaments in the States(Chicago Chi-Town Shuffle) for a 14U team. Not sure how they'll compete, will be interesting. Girls here play on boys teams, girls teams are supplemental.
She was the C on her 10U boys team(stats unknown) & scored 32 goals & 12 assists(credited) in 17 games for her 12U girls team and was the leading scorer for one 14U girls team and with limited games, crushed on another 14U girls team she played on.
I'm excited for the experience, but maybe an eye opener? She's in the 5th grade, will be playing with and against girls that are great hockey players & Freshmen in Highschool.
GET IT ON!

^^^ Funny nugget, the tryout was for a 14U and a 16U team, all girls on ice at the same time at different times/sessions. The Manager told me the coaches assumed she was trying out for the 16U team. Laughing She's a monster.

the power of having an older brother is working out well for her! one of the 1st women's hockey olympians is from my hs and graduated w/ my little brother. girls teams weren't a thing back in the day - i don't think she played on one until college. she dominated in hs, in a state known for hs hockey. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tara_Mounsey
