My wife and I are going to do a quick weekend trip to Dallas, just for a fun time for the two of us, some time in the next few weeks. We'll probably be there most of the day on a Saturday and come back to OK on a Sunday afternoon. I'd like to stay somewhere that is sort of a riverwalk like area with restaurants, bars, and hotels. It would be fun to visit any cool or historic sites during the day. What would you offer up as recommendations? _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

I love staying at the Hilton in South Lake. Decent Restaurants right there and lots of shopping. That said, it is outside of Dallas proper. _________________ Work SUX! |

I'll look at that. Outside of Dallas proper is fine. We just want to be in the general area of north TX and would like to find a place where we can walk around, eat, see some sights, possibly take in some entertainment, and have some drinks without having to travel all over the city. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

I'd recommend staying in Ft. Worth, go check out the FW Stockyards catch the rodeo every weekend, go see a show at Billy Bob's, plenty of places to eat and drink.

I've also been told about the Las Colinas area and Sundance Square. Any experience with either of those areas? _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

I've stayed in Las Colinas several times, it's nice... You can take the DART into the downtown area as well and not worry about driving. |

Sundance Square is in downtown Ft. Worth. Great area to hang out, see some things, hop over to the stockyards etc... The Worthington is very nice to saty in here. Lots of great music in Ft. Worth these days.
If you go to Dallas, The area around Victory park is near Deep Ellum, some historical sites (Book depository/JFK) the new Perot museum, Music at the Granada, House of Blues and more. The Omni is nice and new, and in the center or trolley ride from everything. |
