Don't get me wrong, it's a great stool. I just find myself not using it as much as I thought, and as is the case of the Focal, I kinda wish there was a foot rest.

The Hag chair I would want goes full range - sit to stand - which makes it appealing as well.

Are there any cheaper alternatives for desks? I'd like to have a standing desk at my house, but I can't justify the cost.

wakeboarderdave1, If you don't mind a fixed height desk, Ikea is your friend. For that matter, Home Depot and Lowes too. Laughing

I'm a couple of weeks into having a standing desk and I am a big fan. I feel my posture is better and I already feel stronger in my core.

There is one MAJOR downside, and that is you cannot muffle your farts into your chair like before. Fortunately thus far any audible farts have gone undetected, but it's only a matter of time. LOL

I've got a fluid stand on the way too so I can totally dork out at work.

jryoung, that fluid stand is pretty sweet looking. I would probably break my neck using it!

As for your flatulence... I suggest you conduct carpet bombing operations on your co-workers. Make sure you have your fake cough queued up, and blammo! Release the Kraken!

Or... you could just stop eating bear/elk/squirrel sausage. Just saying. Laughing

I went to an adjustable standing workstation in February. It is AWESOME. I have a stool for when I want to sit and a thick rubber mat for standing. I've worked my way up to standing probably 3/4 of the day without any issue (standing all day in dress shoes takes awhile to get used to doing) and I really do love it. I find that if I stand all morning and maybe sit right after lunch I have a lot more energy throughout the day and am just in a better overall mood.

*sigh* If only you had to learn to stand all day in heels. THAT is the ultimate test.

I'm going to go the other direction and see if I can find a way to lay down at work...connected chaise lounge, maybe. j/k. I'm sold on this and am already standing/strolling more than sitting all day. awesome.

tball, believe me, I've had thoughts of putting a couch in my office.

I need to replace my floor mat. It started to rip so I duct taped it. Problem is, the duct tape is kinda sticky on the top, so my shoes stick to it. Laughing
