I have a question that I have not found an answer for.

If someone is in a state where it is not legal for medical use...How will their medicare and medicade benefits be effected if they choose to smoke instead of taking prescription oxy, hydrocodone or morphine?

The older I get the harder it is for me to believe that taking prescription pain meds is better than just using something a little less addicting.

Not sure I understand the question. I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of individuals on Medicare or Medicaid, that smoke pot. I don't believe that it changes their benefits at all.

Individuals have no responsibility to submit to any type of drug testing to qualify or continue receiving Medicare or Medicaid benefits. There are plenty of individuals who are known illegal drug users, receiving benefits without issue.

Bet you could call a local Medicare or Medicaid(hard to believe you'd ever qualify for Medicaid) representative and ask.
