Who wins the Senate?
In local news, Unreal to me that Kitzhaber will get reelected after Bubb Rubbing up almost 1 billion in tax payer dollars on 1-5 bridge replacement and Cover Oregon.
Shows how strong the Lib is in OR. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

eeven73, many states just don't have much going on in the midterm as far as national elections go.
I know for fact I am super-annoyed at the Ose vs Bera (CA-7) lie-fest that is polluting my airwaves right now. _________________

I rarely vote but for the governor's election this year both candidates are so bad that I'm going to get out there and vote independent (Florida) |

We have a few good positions up for election...governor, state education superintendent and some senator/rep positions. I'm hoping we can vote out our governor, get someone beside a R in the rep seats and see where we can go from there. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Ha... good luck with that. I lived in Oklahoma for 15 years and the only non Republicans I remember ever winning anything was David and Dan Boren. Oklahoma is definitely the most politically one sided place I've ever lived.
Well I guess I live in California right now, so it's pretty close to being the opposite mindset over here. |

It's definitely very Reep here. There are a lot of independents, though, and they are making progress. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Depends on where you live and what office. Where I'm at, D's have a snowballs chance in hell of getting elected (Placer county). Same same for places like Orange County, although they are trending toward the middle quickly.
I actually had a candidate for a house seat stop by my house yesterday (Art Moore). He's challenging McClintock for the CA-4 seat, and both are Republicans. Anything is better than McClintock, the carpetbagging douche who doesn't even live in this district and a TP favorite. _________________

^ you can make the same comment RE Oregon.
However, the major offices in both states are pretty much lock down Dem. CA actually has had a R as a Gov in the last 30 years so points to them.
It is frankly disheartening the nincompoopery that the Dems get away with in OR. Kitzhaber is basically daring the electorate to vote for someone else. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

Wisconsin is a joke right now too. We have Republican darling Scott Walker and an airhead spoiled liberal in Mary Burke. I'm writing "f*** you" on the ballot to show my displeasure with our elected officials and bought off political parties. |

Not a very surprising 6th year election IMO. With hunting and public land issues being important to me it's disappointing to lose Hagan (NC) and Udall (CO) as they both were pretty moderate and did good thing for sportsman and habitat.
I expect not much to happen in the next two year, lot's of finger pointing and two to three more notches of insanity coming out of state houses/assemblies/senates. _________________

Our ballot was irritating and frustrating...they do a good job of shutting out the independents around here. Of course we were an all R sweep. Arggghhh, people need to wake up around here.
At a federal level, the R's would be smart to change things up and try to prove to people they are constitutionally minded, not just part hacks that couldn't care less about the people. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Unsurprisingly, the incumbent R Tom McClintock beat the challenger R Art Moore in CA-4.
McClintock's #1 argument against Moore?
He didn't vote in elections while he was a military officer. Moore explains this as not wanting to have any conflicts of interest when he was active duty military - that is was in direct conflict with military professionalism to affiliate with a party or vote. There is historical precedent to that claim, but McClintock's voters are apparently too ignorant to understand.
This, my friends, is just another glaring problem with party affiliation and our system in general. This is how guys like Gohmert maintain in TX, how Pelosi will never lose re-election, and is basically the plot to the "classic" Eddie Murphy film "The Distinguished Gentleman". _________________

Yeah that and Don't live under power lines.
Amnesty will be a clusterfukc. Barack can't keep to a red line in any other moment in his presidency, but are we to believe his year end threat? _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |
