Hi guys. First post as new member. Recently purchased an 86 supra saltare imported to Australia from the US. Love it love it love it. You Yanks make awesome boats. Problem I have is when in reverse it won't turn one way. Rudder is off centred to prop which makes sense but it just goes straight on full lock or just back from full lock in reverse. Is this common? Is there a fix for it.
Thank you for all the great blogs. I have learnt so much

Inboards can't really be steered in reverse since the water isn't being pushed across the rudder by the prop. Usually it will naturally just "turn" in one direction based on prop rotation. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thank you for responding. These boats are just awesome. I had it out yesterday with 6 adults and 3 kids and it was just amazing. Shame I have to put the bilge pump on so often as its takjng water from I believe around the exhaust pipes (from what ive seen on forums) but otherwise, wow. What an amazing boat. _________________ L'homme et la sante viagrasansordonnancefr.com analogues de medicaments |

SupraSaltareAUD, welcome man!
I have an old 87 Supra Comp.
It leaks a little at the rudder and the prop strut support.
I installed an auto bilge. Has three wires. Ground 12v for manual and 12v for auto.

done. and done.
Enjoy the boat! Load up the ballast and have fun! That's what it's about. _________________ Whenever I see an $80,000 Wakesetter pulling a tuber, I die a little inside. |

Remember to use the rotation of the prop (and the direction the rear is pulling to when reversing) when docking. Very useful, or the opposite if you try to dock from the wrong side
Enjoy that boat and post some pics! _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

If it's a direct drive boat you may need to tighten the drive shaft seal nut. If your boat has one, it will have a graphite cord seal in there to keep water from getting past your driveshaft into your hull. I have to tighten mine down once in a while. You want it to drip just a bit as the water lubricates the shaft as it turns.
I agree with the auto bilge pump - good call!
