In the GoPro thread a while back some people gave me some tips, but I'm still on novice baby steps as you can see... Anyway here's a quick one of my wife putting some drag on a ~30ish# Mahi this weekend. She's really gotten into offshore fishing with me this season; which is good since she's the one that makes new boat decisions. (hopefully the buyer for our current sled comes through)

And a few stills- 7 for 8 on Wahoos, 2 nice Mahis, 3 Blackfin Tuna, and 1 Hake. Also had a ~250ish Marlin that screamed drag off the shotgun reel for 45 seconds and made several leaps but we didn't manage to get hooked up. Oh well.

(P.S.- obviously not "gangsta" but my bud who wasn't on this trip says "white people problems" whenever I whine about rough seas, tangled lines, etc... so I threw him a sign since it was dead flat Smile)

'05-'07 40' Cabo Flybridge is what we've pretty much decided on.

That's a heck of a boat. Do you want to come manage my rental properties for me? You're apparently doing a better job at it than we are.

buddy of mine (i've shown his boat on here before - the bimini babe) was on the dock when this bad boy was weighed the other day. 972lbs, landed by the boat "legacy" - should be a state record.

Yea, I know the guys on Legacy, hell of a job they did!
Legacy only sold for $14,000 at Poco Bueno yesterday and and a lot of boats dropped out due to the 6-7ft forecasted seas. The calcutta total was only around $545,000 I heard, usually it's over $1MM.

one more vid of other fish we caught if you can stand my mad [embarrassing] gopro editing skillz... https://vimeo.com/100825417

jt09,
That's a monster blue! I've been keeping up with the big game tourney's around here lately and they haven't brought in many blues over 600.

Looks like a good time. I need to take my service manager up on a trip down to the coast.

RampageWake, How far off are you guys going? I have never seen a swordfish in Surfside! My family has a house in Oyster Creek(off the levy just short of the big bridge in Surfside). I will be down there next weekend to catch some specs and reds.

What's up Hunter, haven't seen you on here in a long time. I haul my boat at Dos Amigo's, I am real familiar with Oyster Creek. The shrimp boats are hanging out around 46 miles this weekend, but we're not fishing again until next weekend. I dock at Bridge Harbor on D dock, stop by some time and have a beer.

RampageWake, Yea I don't post much, but I am always lurking. I am not as familiar with Freeport as I should be so I am not sure where Dos Amigo's is. We have a boat on a lift at the house in oyster creek, but it rarely gets used. I stick more to the lights at the house, the beach or the jetty. I wish they would rebuild the San Luis pass pier, that used to be my favorite spot for bullreds. Are sailfish a common thing in Freeport?
