And hooray for the patent agreements that have been announced recently (Lenovo gets a license to the Moto patents that Google owns, Samsung and Google agreed to cross-license patents).

You can whatever LG calls their flavor of Android to the list of the list of terrible interfaces that I hate. Why can't phone companies just use true android? For starters it's about 100x's easier to navigate and isn't cluttered with useless features. _________________ RIP DLS.

I mean who doesn't need their phone to (attempt to and fail miserably at) pause when they look away from the screen? Touch the screen to do that? What is this, 2011? Yeah yeah nevermind that I'm holding the phone in my hand and touching the pause button would make me have to move my thumb 1/4 of an inch. FEATURES! _________________

The only cool feature that I like that the G2 has is the double tap to wake. Although I'm sure that's a battery hog and they needed an easier way to turn the phone on b/c they put the power button on the back of the phone. _________________ RIP DLS.

5.0" display on front
4.7" e-ink touchscreen display on back
Being able to check social media and message with other people using an e-ink screen would be very nice, especially if you're nowhere near a power outlet and your battery is getting low. I'd also love this if I'm camping and I know that I wont have access to power for 2+ days. Hopefully this isn't passed over as a gimmick, but it probably will.

wakeboarderdave1, love Pushbullet. Wish most of the really cool stuff in Tasker wasn't root only, the combo sounds great.
If Moto really does what they are saying and releases a good looking smartwatch, I'd likely be interested. The Pebble steel just isn't there yet. Watches are one place where function takes a backseat to form, but if they combine together into an awesome device, I'm all about that. _________________
I really like this idea. Need a new camera? Buy one. Going on a long camping trip? Remove the rear speaker and add in another battery module. That's not to mention the price of storage should plummet - wait for Sandisk to put their 64gb or 128gb storage module on sale and buy one. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

I can analyze, but I can't clean. And when I tried to uninstall Dashclock Widget from the App Manager, it uninstalled the CCleaner app instead. Woops! _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

I'm super excited to see how all the Project Ara stuff develops, but I'm unsure if it's something that I'll want to hop on at launch. There's too many companies that are going to have to buy in...and then stick around for a few years for this to idea to make $$$ sense to consumers. I'd hate to buy all of the individual modules at launch and then a year in watch as all the manufacturers slowly pull out. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

PSA: you can now set relationships (aka "nicknames") in Google Now. If you go in to Gnow, and type in (or say) "John Smith is my Dad" it will add that "nickname" to him.
I'm sure you could type in (or say) "John Doe is my boss", or "Pizza Planet is my Pizza", etc to get one word shortcuts to those. _________________
IFTTT is now on Android. Seems nifty, but I haven't had much free time to play with it.
On a somewhat-related note, I'm really getting tired of Cover switching me from "work" to "out" every time I go to a meeting or the cafeteria. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

scott a, I use IFTTT for a handful of things. Most useful is with the WeMo switches I have, and setting reliable schedules to control them (the apps from Belkin... well they suck). There is so much potential with IFTTT - it's only scratched the surface to date.
I went back to a Cover + GEL setup a few weeks ago. It seems to just work better for me. I really, really like Aviate, but it's still got some growing up to do. _________________
Also, is anyone using Dash? I picked up at $20 OBDII bluetooth adapter about a month ago, and use Dash to log everything. It has an IFTTT channel, which I use to log all of my drives to Sheets. Keeps a running sheet with the data from every drive.
If you like data, its pretty damn cool. _________________
Bumping this one up to see if anyone saw anything they liked from IFA (hardware related) or from Apple (hardware or software).
If the Sony Xperia z3 Compact comes to AT&T I'll be getting that. If not then I'm going to look hard at the Galaxy Alpha. I'm a fan of 4.7" and I'm glad that these two phones offer solid specs without being phablets. If I decide against both of these handsets then I'll be looking at the iPhone. Part of me wants to wait and see what the new Nexus handset(s) will be, but I have a feeling everything will be >5.0" and...meh. _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com
