jt09, just watched the video. That's the same story I was thinking. To me, whether it is these ranchers or the Bundy's the Feds are pushing an issue to take over land that there is really no reason to be screwing with. What makes them think this is necessary?

Um??? But they do have a Federal Law that requires them to protects certain species on that land... Ranchers in Northern CA have cut some good deals to achieve access while providing conservation of sensitive habitat... Doubt these guys have tried that yet.

Okie Boarder, I don't know all the specifics of either case, but the Nevada situation has always been BLM land. In the Texas situation, the BLM is saying that as the river shoreline changes, it only works in the BLM's favor. If the shoreline extends into what used to be river, that land is now BLM land. If the river widens and pushes your shoreline back, thus turning your land into part of the river, you just lost that land, and if/when the river narrows at that spot, and that area returns to land, it is now BLM land.

I actually saw a couple stories about the comments...seems like there is some question as to what was actually said. But, it didn't take long for people to distance themselves from him about the comments.

no one is saying that, so far as i can tell. but the supporters he had can't support him now. there's a big difference between saying "he deserves hell from the gov't" and "good luck homey, you're on your own!"

The SS were just doing their job, that they got paid for to feed their families, too. Just because you're instructed to do something or because something is "legal" doesn't mean it is not wrong, nor should it be stood up against. If you were to have stood up against the SS or Hitler, you would have been breaking the law, too. Sometimes the right thing to do breaks laws.

Not standing up against tyranny seems more like a nutjob to me.
