Oops, haha didn't notice the signature/link first time. No offense; enjoy what you're doing! Sure a nice stereo is... nice, but if I was on a G I'd only care about riding. Sick boats.

I am not really sure how many watts, I really don't think its that many 4000-5000 maybe?? when you are dealing with Mcintosh amplifiers, watts are not the same when comparing apples to apples as you comparing watts from some of the other mass produced amplifiers - , so its really hard to give a comparison. I just go for the cleanest sound sometimes I sacrifice the power it takes to run a clean amp (classA) vs (Class D) - to me, you can't beat the sound of a Solid state Mcintosh Amplifier/ - Unfortunately they aren't cheap but the good news is wha I go and sell mine, I will easy get more than I paid for them 3 years ago. Like a Rolex, they go up in value if you into that kind of stuff. I also made the investment in putting cameras all around my boat dock, you never know no matter where or how safe you think it is.

My personal opinion of course but 2 things always happen on the water, you either run out of power or run out of clean sound. things start to become distorted - Hot, volts drop - = a long day out on the water, it will happen so I try to plan for that and have plenty of reserve, I don't think I have powered my system up more than 60% - I feel like the entire dashboard and hull is going to come apart. so I have a 12 volt battery bank with lots of reserve power, Its a great asset late in the day. (drunk or sober)
