I am going to be purchasing my first boat within the next 6-12 months. This will be my first personal boat, but my dad and I had an '05 Mobius LSV when I was in high school and I did 90% of the maintenance so I know what it entails. I am looking for something in the 40-60K range, ideally I'd like to stay under 50. I know some might suggest getting something older/cheaper for a first boat, but I don't want to throw 30K just to sell it a year later and lose 10K in the process. I've ridden behind a lot of boats but want more input. I myself wakeboard a lot but I'm more interested in getting something that is comfortable for 8-10 people. I'd prefer a better surf wave over a wakeboard wake. Some boats that I have been considering:
08-09 SANTE 210
06-08 X 45
10-12 A22
1-2 year old Mojo 2.5
3-4 year old Supra 22SSV
09-10 Tige RZ2
Any input on some of these is greatly appreciated. One other concern I have, is if I go too big, like the X45, I may need to upgrade my truck first (2010 Ram Hemi but with 2wd).
Thanks in advance! |

my vote is for the a22, i think you get the most for your money with the axis. second would be the SANTE. good luck! _________________ 1988 Supra Sunsport

BTC, do Not be hesitant on buying a good used boat. You could buy a nice 2005 VLX for $35,000 use it for three years and sell it for $35k! 8-10 people? Come out for a ride! _________________ Live to Ride, ride to live |

Check out the new mastercraft NXT. It's gonna be 50k and will come out this summer. It'll be like the X2 in looks just not as fancy. Still drive like a MC and drives better than Moomba or Axis. Just google it |

its not GOING to be $50k, its STARTING at $50k
Axis t22 starts at $50k. When you add options, trailer, etc., it ends up closer to $65K.
Also, its a 20' boat. a22 is 22'.
Finally, the a22 looks much better than the nxt IMO, and realistically the NXT wont be ready for delivery until fall of 2014 |

No it's going to be 50k. You don't get any options. It comes with what it comes with. The only thing that could cost you anymore would be a tandem axle trailer instead of single axle. |

Plus the T22 is Axis, which is a sh*tty Malibu. And Malibu is already sh*tty quality. This is a Mastercraft. They don't need to brand it different because it will be Mastercraft quality. |

hmm, kindoitall, are you an MC rep? you joined the same day you posted in this thread touting the NXT, and these are your only posts on this site--praising a boat that hasn't even hit the water yet. the axis has been proven to have an amazing wake for a hard-to-beat price, yet you call it a "shitty malibu"? maybe your marketing tactics need a little refinement, pal. _________________ 1988 Supra Sunsport

Lol, that's is news to me, and news to Terry McNew (the president of Mastercraft) who I spoke with on Saturday at the Grand Rapids boat show.
They'll also be releasing additional sizes in the future, but starting with the 20'.
They have a couple of complete boats made, but haven't released them for obvious reasons while undergoing testing. Production should start in May.
Look through my posting history. I called the T22 down to the correct name, and the a24 release. |
