my wrx is in the shop having its bumpers replaced after it was hit buy an unlicensed, uninsured scene-of-an-accident leaver. my rental for the week is a chrysler 200. i don't think i have ever driven a worse car.

i just spent a few minutes poking around on chrysler's website, and they only make 3 vehicles: the 200, 300, and minivan. that doesn't make much sense.

anyone care to challenge my assertion that the 200 is the worst car on the market today?

STPHNSN23, no I don't think anyone would argue the Sebr... err... 200 is the worst car on the market.

Which motor does it have? The new 3.6? Or is it one of their old useless 6 cyl motors?

Has to be the 4 banger. I'm guessing you'd know it if you had 280hp/260tq under foot.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'll bet a Chrysler 200 owner given a wrx rental might say the wrx is the worst car out there... different expectation's.

I concur with your assertation that the Chrysler 200 is a piece of crap. Had one as a rental returned it the same day for a different car.
I put it in the same category as the PT cruiser.

when i got my car back, i immediately missed the 200's steering wheel mounted stereo controls. my wrx has them, but they're not great. i think chrysler has been using the same configuration for years, but it seems to work better than the others i've used.

I really like the styling of the current 300.

I've caught myself a number of times glancing back thinking it was a much higher end car. The older boxy'er ones I liked initially as well, however the new ones are much more refined looking.

I've never driven one but based on exterior styling alone I am considering it for my next car.

would you like your car to last more than 80,000 miles? if so, stay away from Chrysler.

I understand that sentiment, our current car is a 2007 Mazda 3 with 250,000 km on it. It has been flawless. We had planned to drive it until it died, but im not convinced that is going to happen any time soon and when I replace it I am going to be picky.

I really like some of the new Benz styling, but I might feel like a douche driving one around.

I am 6'4 and commute a pretty long distance, so I want a big car, but also need a bit of fuel economy.

anyways, bit of a hijack...I think the 200 is ugly...

Tons of space in the new Passat. Actually have 2 in my family. My lil bro has a 2012 SE and my uncle has a 2012 SEL TDI. The TDI is definitely the better of them, but the bro's SE is not shabby either.

Great car for a taller person, lots of space. Heck, I'd bet at 6'4" you'd fit fine in the backseat too...

Agreed, my dad has a 13 SE and he loves it. He easily see's greater than 30 mpg on the highway. I'd get a tdi if it didn't have a timing belt instead of a chain.

I don't know, I come from more of a pickup truck, coors light, shooting fireworks at each other background, might look a little funny pulling up to the farm for thanksgiving...

At home i'm a "city boy" at work im a "country bumpkin" Laughing Besides, can you even get a lift kit for a benz??

Passat seems so bland looking, I think the TDi is proabably awesome but it feels a bit like an appliance (IMO).
