Hello all
I don't wakeboard but my daughter started this summer and is getting pretty good. I'm here to try and learn a little more about the sport. Here is a short video I shot last Sunday around Houston. Thank

Glad to have ya here and way to take so much interest in your daughter's hobby!
There's years and years worth of great info on here, the search button at the top of the site is your friend (but don't be afraid to ask anything either!). |

Hi welcome! Nice riding of your daughter, especially since it's her first season.
Jumps and position look great, but -if you allow me to comment, and I hope you will, 'cause your daughter will benefit from it- her edging in for heelside jumps is a bit off.
Let me explain: when she edges back in you see a lot of slack in the rope. She turns pretty aggressively, and then half way towards the wake the board is flat again, no edge at all anymore.
What she should do: after edging out coast a bit longer, until the rope starts pulling her back towards the wake. When that happens (but not earlier than that!), she can slowwwwly start edging in, gradually building up her edge and tension in the line. "Progressive edging" are the magic words. You want the strongest edge and the highest tension in the rope right where you hit the wake. Not right after the turn in at the start of the edge, like she does now.
Also time to start some toeside and switch jumps, she's ready for it!

Thanks for the advice. I brought her out today and started working on some of these things. I also had her practicing riding regular footed and wake 2 wake 180's |
