|

Sorry, I know I see like 100 forum posts about this and I've went through and watched those and read the advice and tried to put it to practice in my attempts, but I'm still having no luck. I've probably tried this trick 50+ times now with the same result nearly every time. I know I let go of the rope early, I need to get over that fear of catching an edge. I believe my edge isn't strong enough to get the pop I need, I'm working on trying to improve upon that. I moved the line length in about 5 foot to attempt to clear the wake because landing on the crest of the opposite wake I thought was my main problem, but today I cleared the wake with my attempt, but my board still slid out from under me. My rotation seems to be a little funky, but I've watched a lot of backroll attempts and they seem to all vary a little bit so I was hoping that wasn't too big of a deal. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I really want to nail this trick and was hoping you guys could give me the knowledge I need. Thanks!

Not bad! They actually look really good.
One ittle detail that will give some more pop/air is push your hips a little bit more forward all through the edge. If you pause the video just before you hit the wake you see you're bending over a bit at the waist. Stand even taller.
And yes, shorten the rope. You say that when you did the bard still slid out from under you. No way to tell what happened there cause you're letting go in all attempts in the vid. Can't say a thing about the landing yet.
So shorten the rope, stand taller during your approach and show a video of the landing.
What *might* be the case is you might have to move the handle away from the wake when you land. But having the right position at take off (taller) will also help your landing.
Good luck and post another video! _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Great start! To me it looks like you're initiating the trick/coming off of your edge a little early and not getting everything you can out of the wake. Waiting another half a second will make a big difference for you.
FlyZone CR is more of an expert in the details though to listen to him! |
