For those that longboard...what type of boards do you recommend? I am looking at getting into longboards.

What do you think about these companies?

Creation

Dogtown

Gravity

Madrid

Santa Cruz

Dreggs

Do you buy completes or do you piece them together?

Loaded boards makes the best downhill boards by far, check them out.

Cheaper to buy completes.

I know it's not on your list but I personally like Sector 9 longboards. Expensive though. Sad

sector 9 is a good board to start on. i Have 5 of them. They r cheaper than other brands but still a good longboard. I would not say they are the best but they always have a solid line up. to start i would spend 120-160 on a deck because in that range ur getting a decent board and not droppin alot of money. I have a board that i spent 500 bucks on (more than double of what my car is worth). Every longboard style and company has a different aspect to offer so if u get more into it u can search for something u like and always try out other people boards. I currently like to ride longboard larry and i kinda like loaded as well.

Longer board is best for maintaining stable speeds so you will enjoy it much more. Evolve Skateboards is the world's largest Longboard skateboard retailer. They make different design of skateboards and are built locally in each country at an affordable price.

check out http://www.silverfishlongboarding.com they have a huge community and are very helpful. I would not suggest a loaded (and I own one) because they are over priced. Earthwing makes a rock solid board. Their are numerous other brands as well. Sector 9 makes good boards too, as well as some other smaller companies. The board you want really depends on what you want to do with it. Just cruise then you have one set, fast downhill then another set, and so on. It is usually easier to buy complete but if you like to do research and really want to get a board you will absolutely love i suggest you hop on silverfish and search some threads ask a few questions then go buy a great board! I love longboarding it keeps me sane when I cant be on the water or snow.
