When I posted that, I was thinking that your or Haugy might ask me that question.

I really didn't have any water in the foam. But I still had some stringer rot under the engine where someone had put screws in the stringers to hold fuel lines, water lines, etc. I replaced the stringers under the engine, put in new floor supports, new floor, carpet.

The previous owner had bought factory covers for the interior and had replaced most of them except for the engine cover and passenger seat. I replaced those.

Other misc items include: recovered dash, rebuilt speedos, depth sounder, new radio, speakers, teak, minor engine work, rudder rebuild, tower, bimini with custom mounts, etc.

This winter I'm adding LED lights, extra bilge pump, custom decals, ski locker lift arms, trailer rehab.

Obviously there are a lot of other minor things, but that's the highlights.

OK, couldn't remember if you did a full stringer job or partial. Sounds like you have done quite a bit. Seems like you need to post a bunch more pictures of all you've done. Wink

Nice. So what did you do to the speedos that you're calling a rebuild?

It was cosmetic and functional. The problem is that I don't know exactly what I did that fixed the functional part. I took it completely apart, cleaned, lubed, painted and reassembled. They look much better, and they started working after this project. I think the cleaning went a long way in getting them work again as there was so many flaked paint chips under the glass (and I think that was interfering with the needle movement).

Thanks man. I'm very pleased with the outcome, and it's a great family ski boat. We love using it all summer and it can even fit more people than my friends $90k ski boat.

The wake is good enough for us. If you're looking for a competition wake, well, I think you can get there, but it would require a lot of testing with a lot of weight. I've put people in the back, and the wake looks really good to me, but I'm not interested in flying 30 feet through the air and breaking my neck. I don't even use any sacks right now, because the wake is a good size for my kids. I'm sure there will come a time when I want to add some sacks and increase the wake size.

GnarShredd, I know mine does well when we run about 1300# total. It has worked well for us. The old Sunsports and Saltares really seem to do a good job for the money.

Thanks. It's a custom tower by Marine Tower Systems. They make towers for several manufacturers, but they do some custom work and I was able to design my own.

this has got me going nuts trying to find the right saltare for me. they are either complete basket cases and not worth saving, or are really nice for more than i want to spend. trying to find that usable $6k saltare has got to be the hardest thing i have done so far...and im willing to travel 2k miles. you sir have done an awesome job!

Thanks Kartman. The tower was custom made in Maryville, TN and I think it was around $1,800. I can't remember exactly.

It runs great engine was built by a race shop in Fort Collins has less than 100 hours. the tower is a Roswell. trailer is a 2006. and no leaks.

Ok needs:

one small spot in the floor seems to have a bubble in the fiber glass but the floor was totally redone in 2007.

Rear seat and locker. the seats were totally rotted when the floor was redone and i was always going to build one with a ballast tank but never got to it. i have a ballast couch that i used and will go with the boat.

The door on the locker needs re built but the vinyl is still ok. a few of the seats need re covered and a new base for the engine house needs to be built.

also the wiring to the tower needs to be redone i just taped wires to the outside of the tower.

that about covers it. and always remember 2 boats is better than 1
