Indmar 5.7 TBI

Transmission cooler is starboard side of motor laying flat. I am confused about which end of the cooler should be disconnected to check for debris. The end nearest impeller or the end furthest away from impeller.

The water comes out of the lake through the hull fitting then through the filter screen (if you have one) then to the trans cooler . If it has any debris in it it will be there on the water intake side.

This, I had problems with this in my supra a few times, clean out the intake side and you'll be good. I also back flushed it just to make sure it was clear.
