|
|
I am installing a new stereo system in my bayliner 2150. This thread will be full of progress pics since I just got a new Nikon P500..(pics will be up tonight).
I am close to having all the speakers installed in the boat. and I am now wondering how to wire them up. I have never installed a system before. So if anyone has recommendations please let me know!!
Here is what I have...
4x kicker km6200's
4x alpine sps-610c's with 4x tweeters.
2x 12" JL audio w0's(i think)
1x phoenix gold 900x5
1x 600x4 (amp)
1x fusion 2000x1 (amp)
My current plan on wiring(suggested by a friend who knows more about stereo's than me): using only the phoenix gold amp. paralell wire all 8 alpine speakers to one channel, and all 4 kicker's to another channel. 5th channel goes to the subs. and IIRC has a dedicated 400ish watts to it.
He noted that I can wire each speaker independently with it's own wires then do the paralell wiring at the amp itself.
I've got this:
to put into this:

old stuff
new
cut the orig. holes 5"
2 kicker's installed
pulled the rear speaker spot
locating and measuring the new one
picture of my 10$ hole saw kit from harbor freight. this is important because it saved me about 60$. Bubb Rubbing home depot. one 5" hole saw, one 1.75" and the driver with a drill bit was ~70$.
speaker set in, tweeter is hotglued!
one random pic for fun (not that random...)

got a few more holes drilled. drilling holes in my boat is one of the most (mentally) challenging things I have ever done.. measure 37 times cut once.
2900 watts, 12 component speakers, 3 subwoofers.
