Any of you ladies know where I could find long boardshorts designed for women? I like short ones, but prefer the long ones. I've never found long ladies boardshorts in a store, and I think Swell.com has like one option (only up to size 5 ). I've found a couple of guys shorts I like OK, but guys boardshorts are not made for junk in the trunk. Any good ideas? |

I have a couple of pairs of longer boardshorts that are Roxy, I got them last year though at an outlet store. So you might want to check out any shops that sell Roxy boardshorts, hope this helps |

Libdsay, I know that each season for the past few years Ripcurl, Billabong, Oneill, Aaron Chang and Fox have all put out like 1-2 styles of longer boardshorts. You can try searching for those lines at local shops or online, Pacsun.com, Swell.com and http://foxracing.com might be good places to start. I have a couple girl specific long boardshorts but mostly just buy small sizes in mens, I prefer them to kind of hang off the hips a bit anyway
btw, if any of you live near San Clemente in Southern California, find the RipCurl outlet and regular store. They have TONS of guys and girls boardshorts and the outlet is cheap! |

Lindsay ~ Like Zee said... head up to Rip Curl store off North I-5 right El Camino Real off ramp, in San Clemente and a little further north from there and there is a Rip Curl Oulet store.
Also try Ron Jon Surf shop in OC.

Personally the guys long shorts are way more comfortable. I think most of the companys that try to make long girls boardshorts try to hard. Fox akes awsme ones, I also have are all comfy pair of ripcurl's. Scope out your local boardshop, there hard to order online, you never know what you'll end up with. _________________ Sliding Glass...It's what we do.

Most of my shorts are guys. They sit low on the hips and are more roomy. The girls shorts I have may be long, but they are a bit tighter thru the leg. Not as comfortable as the guy ones I have.... |

I've noticed that too. Thanks for the adivce everyone. I guess I will just keep trying on the guys shorts and I will definitely check out the Rip Curl outlet. The O'Neill ones aren't bad either. Guys shorts are just not built for hips & butts.
I should start a boardshort company....in search of the perfect design.... |

While you're at it, how about designing a USCGA vest that's not bulky.
I've been emailing Jet Pilot about a USCG side entry vest for women.....No luck.
They are in San Diego you know.... |

Yes, design shorts for girls with bubble butts and little waists please!!!!
I noticed that on my vest, the shoulders kind of come up while I am in the water. Is that normal? It is a small size already and my boobs are huge. The shoulders come up so far that I can rub my chin on the front of the vest. Hmmm.... |

That happens to me with the USCG vest if it's not snug fit.
Maybe tightening straps might help . |

Same here.
I'll get right on that Dragonlady8. I'll also try to end hunger and make world peace.
Seriously though, I have a friend who just finished up design school and is looking for jobs. She also sports a ghetto booty...maybe I should get her on the case. |

I've got a sweet pair of girls long shorts from Billabong...my man bought 'em for me 'cause he was tired of seeing me in the short shorts behind the boat. They are SO much more comfortable. I told him I couldn't find long shorts anywhere then one day he goes shopping for me and comes back with 'em. Go figure! |

I have a girlfriend who is a designer over at Fox. She is super skinny. I am going to talk to her about possibly designing some long shorts for us "well-rounded" chicas....I don't know why I never thought about asking her before. |

I Just Bought a pair of wicked board shorts that are nice and long and comfy, they are power shorts the only prob with the design is that the velcrow in the crotch isnt heavy duty so when you wipe you you have to make sure your pants arnt around your ankles.
Good luck in your searches |

I am also one of those rounded chicas, I always have to buy the bigger sizes and then take them in around the waist.
I am the only girl rider around here (as far as I know).. and guys hate it when I wear the long shorts.. they all say they are only for guys...

Lindsay- I actually considered starting my own boardshot company earlier this summer and am still considering it. I finally found one pair of long boardshorts after searching about 10 different shops in 3 different cities! They’re by Billabong and sit pretty low on the hips. The guy’s that I ride with love them. LoL. I tried the guy’s boardshorts thing but I found the legs to be too big and had them altered down but that got to be too expensive. I'd do it myself but I can't sew that well! _________________ "Tell me that I can't do it. Tell me that I am too small. Tell me it's impossible.
