My dad is giving me an old tower. I want to get a graphics card so I can hook it up to my tv via HDMI. It will also be one I start letting the kids use. I am not looking to get anything fancy, just the cheapest that will work. They have them at newegg for about $30 that have a VGA, HDMI, and DVI output on them. Do those support two monitors if you have one hooked up to the VGA and one to the DVI? I would like the potential to hook up to monitors down the road.

If its an older tower I would make sure you know which type of slot it has for a VC before you shop. The slots have changed quite a bit over the past years. The card specs should tell you if it supports dual monitors or not.

Nooga678, yes, you should be able to run dual monitor on just about any video card that is less than 5-7 years old.

I agree with Rhawn. You need to know what slots are available before you blindly buy a card. Could be PCI-e, AGP, or none of the above. Hopefully, you have a newer PCI-e slot at your disposal.
