Not a big fan of cats. Unless I had a barn with a mouse problem. Then cats would rule.

LOL...pretty good. I've never liked cats as a pet, but agree with the idea of having one or two around if you have property/barn. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

We had this barn cat named "Woody."
We used to very slowly and quietly open the door to the grain room and wait 10 minutes or so.
Then we would literally toss Woody in there, and throw the light on while he was in mid air.
Woody could land on the grain on all fours, and almost instantly, I mean nearly too fast to see with the human eye, nab and kill a rat.
It was great entertainment. Not so great if you were a rat though.... _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

We maintain 4 outdoor cats on our rural property. Total number of mouse related issues with our vehicles, ATVs, tractor, boat, etc = ZERO!!
However, indoor cats??? No f'ing way. |

Not a big fan of cats at all - lived with one once (it belonged to my roommate at the time) and I swear it was trying to kill me. Never again. Found that link pretty funny |

I dont understand how someone can like animals and not like dogs? Especially if they like cats! What does a cat even do? Why do you even have a cat? |

Maybe its not so much dogs that I don't care for. I like dogs. they can be fun. I don't like poorly behaved dogs and dog owners that do not handle their dogs. I'm allergic to dogs. I don't want your dog jumping up on me, licking me or rubbing up against me - especially in public. Keep the mutt on a leash if it cannot behave. It keeps me feeling safe and keeps the dog safe.
My mom has two dogs that I really like. I just get tired of hearing cats suck. Maybe they suck for you as a pet, but dogs suck for me as a pet. Just let us that have cats enjoy them without always hearing cats suck.
Also, my cat greets me when I come home. She can fetch. She will lay at my feet in bed and keep my feet warm. She is playful. I can also leave her at home for 3 days with food and water and she is fine. I do not have to board my cat to go on vacation. She is a great pet. _________________ Work SUX! |

Thats cool, and I agree about bad dogs (or any pets), they suck. I guess I'm kinda ignorant when it comes to cats, I didnt think they did anything or had much of a personality. The non-boarding on vaca part is pretty cool. |

Yeah, poorly behaved pets of any kind suck... but most times, that's the fault of the owner. |

Cats have personalities. They range from "get the phuck away from me" to "OK, you may pet me now, but only until I have something better to do."

I agree, b_girl, its nearly always the fault of lazy owners. |

I agree. I have had a few cats, and the best one was the one that acted...... like a dog. _________________ I walk 47 miles of barb wire, I got a cobra snake for a necktie, a brand new house up on the road side, and it's made out of rattlesnake hide |

In my opinion, all animals have personalities whether they be a dog, cat or something else, you just have to spend enough time with them to realize it. We have a rabbit, fish and a snake - all of which have distinct personality traits. |

Those seem like the 3 most useless pets ever.
Kidding, I used to have snakes. _________________

lol... snakes are pretty cool! Ours is old, but still a good pet (extremely low maintenance too) - he came as part of the package deal with my husband haha. The rabbit is "my" pet. |

Dogs are great, but they need the right setting. I think we as humans have kinda given the dog the short end of the stick by forcing them into our lifestyle.
I don't like indoor pets. I'm down to one cat I inherited from my wife and when that one goes, I'm out of the indoor pet business. We don't realize how filthy they make everything. I like animals, but I like em outside. Cats are great as well and do well outside too.
I look forward to owning another dog someday, but I wont do it as long as I live in a neighborhood. One day I will have a few acres out in the country and the dog will live and play outside 100%. IMO a dog shouldn't be stuck in a house all day, with an owner who sprints home to let him out in the yard to go crap, and might take him for a walk if its nice in the evening. They should be out on some land where they can crap when they want, and be more tired than you when you get home. Ya know, allowed to be a dog!
(and I guess I'm talking real dogs. If your dog can be mistaken for a rodent, goes to a groomer, or worse comes back from the groomer with any type of ribbon attached, then the indoor pet rule applies.) _________________ TONA
