Weird Speaker problem

Ok fast run down. I have pioneer head unit that runs my 4 interior speakers/3 sets of tweeters...

I have one amp that runs my tower speakers..

And another amp for my sub.

This past weekend while heading in the interior front speaker and 2 highs got REALLY loud and DISTORTED like they were blown...

Well i pulled the said speaker and highs out. Hooked up in my shop they play perfect. Reinstalled and problem still exists..

Pulled my head unit checked all connections and all is good..

What would you say is causing my problem? Thanks!

The only thing that i could think of that would be causing the problem is that the gain on the amplifier is turned up too much.. You might only hear it in those speakers because the other ones might have a higher power handling.. try turning the gain down, the speakers wont be as loud but they will sound clearer

Try swapping the 3 speakers that are giving the high pitch with the rears or any speaker that's not giving the pitch. You seem to have already ruled out that it's the speakers so now you need to rule out if it's the head unit going bad.
