Unfortunately my trailer jack-knifed on the highway and tossed my pristine 99 Super Air off the trailer. As you can see it tore the tower, windshield, and dash off the boat. There is damage to the driveshaft, rudder, and prop. Most of the hull damage is in the left rear as seen in the pic, but there are other stress cracks. It has the GT-40 engine in it and the interior is in great shape. The pictures show missing cushions, but they are all there and are in excellent shape.

The trailer has a bent tounge, damaged fenders, and bent guide ons. I'm not sure what condition the axels and frame are in.

I'd be interested in selling them as a whole, selling the boat only, selling the trailer only, or selling things like the motor/interior separately.

Boat is located in Clearwater, FL. I don't check my PM's often so call for more information... 334-559-3596.

Isn't this the boat that was up for sale recently? Ex-Iglesias or something?
Either way: ouch indeed, sad to see such a great boat like this.

It is. Was on my way up to meet a guy in Alabama that said he wanted it. Thank god for insurance though unfortunately I only insured it for what I paid for it and not for what I was going to be able to sell it for.

Wonder how much something like that would be to fix. I imagine buying a used boat the same year would be comprable?

you could buy the same boat for what it would cost you to fix that the right way. if you want to jimmy rig it you could save a buck or two. you should pull the motor/vdrive out, sell what you can. you can cut the back half off and make a bitchin bar for your backyard. that thing really shouldnt be put back on the water.

Doing 70mph on the interstate in the left lane, started raining heavily, semi in the right lane sprayed a ton of water into my lane, my truck hydroplaned, went left, slammed off the guard rail, came back right, got sideways, went down the embankment, and ejected the boat. Overall very thankful for how it turned out and thank god for insurance.

Hmm.... I'm surprised the insurance company didn't question about the tie downs not being used. I thought that was a law in most states, at least here in NY your load no matter what has to be secured to the trailer. Our Boats have to be strapped on the back, and emergency locked to the front by means other than just the winch strap.

In your scenario, glad everyone was ok though! Sorry for the loss on your boat but at least your insurance kicked in. Smile

I believe I saw this accident!

I was traveling South from Georgia, and saw a truck with trailer in the median (heading in the opposite direction) and a boat a pretty far distance away. Could hardly believe what I was seeing.

Happened Saturday March 10th, on I-4 west, not far from Daytona.

There was a terrible storm and traffic was crazy because of the bike week folks heading towards Orlando. Really a bad few minutes to be on the interstate

or perhaps it was some other poor soul.
